Premium dog food: list of the most popular Russian and imported food (composition, reviews, description)

Every pet owner, when choosing food for their animal, tries to come to some compromise when the dog/cat will receive tasty, healthy, well-balanced and, of course, nutritious food, but at the same time, the price of such an ideal diet should fall within certain limits. At first glance, choosing a budget food of good quality may seem like an impossible task, but today the choice on the feed market is simply enormous, and Russian-made feeds are becoming increasingly popular (especially in light of the rise in prices of foreign feeds).

Among the most famous Russian brands, perhaps, the following brands can be distinguished: Blitz (Blitz), Our Mark, ProKhvost (ProKhvost), Trapeza, ProBalance (ProBalance), Faithful Friends, Stout and Safari (Safari). All of the above domestic brands are presented in our online store “Happy Pet” and are well-known among most dog and cat owners, but they undeservedly occupy the very last lines of the rating and lose to imported positions of the same level.

So let's take a little closer look at what a domestic product is? It so happens that the most important drawback of these diets is the very fact that the feed is produced in Russia, however, some of the most popular foreign brands have long been produced in Russia or have a double country of production. These are, for example, everyone’s favorite foods Royal Canin, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Cat Chow. In defense of Russian feed, I would like to add that in most cases, although they are domestic, they are produced either in Russian divisions of foreign concerns, or on high-tech foreign equipment in compliance with the norms established by international standards for the production of animal feed. Russian feed also includes raw materials coming from foreign and trusted Russian suppliers. All this allows us to say that the quality of many domestic feeds is at a high level.

Many dog and cat owners also think that the more meat included in the food, the better. However, in reality it turns out that this is not entirely true, since excess protein negatively affects the functioning of internal organs, in particular the functioning of the liver. Indeed, meat should form the basis of nutrition, but the diet should also contain fruits, vegetables and even grains, which, when properly processed, are well absorbed and play an important role as an energy supplier. This is the type of nutrition that will be optimally balanced. Therefore, you should not be afraid of the fact that cereals are present in the composition; you just need to more carefully study the needs of your particular animal.

Let's take a little closer look at some of the most popular food lines.

Composition of premium dog food

Premium dry dog food has an excellent composition, which includes the following ingredients.

  • Protein - this can be chicken meat or offal, sometimes vegetable protein may be present.
  • Carbohydrates can be wheat and corn, but the most ideal options are rice, barley and oatmeal.
  • Antioxidants and preservatives are also present in premium dry dog food, but which ones are not specified.
  • Vitamin and mineral supplement.

Assortment of canned food for dogs

The assortment is quite large; without proper preparation and advice from experts in this matter, it is difficult to make a successful purchase. Before purchasing a batch of food, you need to know what to look for first by visiting a specialty store.

It would not be superfluous to consider the pros and cons of the product being analyzed in order to cast aside all doubts about this or completely change the animal’s diet. There are several varieties of delicacies, the groups differ from each other not only in pricing policy, there are also other nuances, all important points must be considered long before purchase.

Features of premium dog food

This food is positioned as a product that is saturated with all the necessary beneficial elements that are necessary for a proper dog diet.

The pet gets maximum benefit from the food, and all vitamins and mineral supplements are absorbed easily and in full. It always contains a lot of animal protein; it is from this that the animal receives the necessary amino acids.

Premium food may contain several types of meat, from 40 to 60%, this can be chicken, chicken, rabbit, veal and fish.

Comparison of domestic and popular foreign feeds

Let's compare the composition of the feeds of some popular foreign manufacturers with the domestic diets Blitz, ProBalance and Safari.

SAFARI Dry cat food with chicken Cat ChickenPoultry (chicken 18%), corn, rice (10%), refined animal fat, wheat, herring meat, beef, corn gluten meal, liver protein, brewer's yeast, beet pulp, sunflower oil, powdered eggs, FOS (fructooligosaccharides ), chicory pulp, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, dicalcium phosphate. Protein 33%. Fat 13%.

Of these five positions, only one food (SAFARI) is a conditionally domestic food. Let's compare it with other popular diets. Firstly, the protein content in the diet meets accepted standards and is not inferior in quantity to the analyzed diets. The amount of fat is slightly underestimated, but only for the purpose of preventing the pet from gaining excess weight, since it will receive the missing energy from carbohydrates (cereals are rich in them).

As we can see, Safari food contains corn and wheat, and therefore this food is not suitable for feeding cats with intolerance to these grains. However, they are also present in the ROYAL CANIN and PURINA PRO PLAN diets, designed for animals with sensitive digestion and skin. Among the positive properties of the Safari diet, one can note the presence of several sources of animal protein and prebiotics beneficial for the digestive system.

However, with SAFARI Sterilized (Meat meal (25%), chicken (20%), rice (19%)) and SAFARI Kitten (Meat meal (31%), chicken (26%), rice (15%)) the situation is otherwise. As you can see, the first three places, which is more than 60% of the diet, are occupied by meat and rice. At more distant positions we see barley, potatoes and corn gluten, but if the pet is not intolerant to these components, their small content will not harm at all.

BLITZ Dry food for adult dogs of all breeds with turkey Adult All Breeds Turkey&BarleyDehydrated turkey and pork (17%), barley, rice, hydrolyzed protein, malt sprouts, fish and chicken fat, hydrolyzed liver, vegetable oil, beet pulp, yeast - source of mannan oligosaccharides (MOS), dried apple, dehydrated egg, acidity regulator, probiotic - live microorganisms Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis, inulin - fructooligosaccharide (FOS), fennel, Yucca Schidigera, fucus, antioxidants (vitamin E and rosemary extract), vitamins and minerals. Protein 24%. Fat 17%.

As can be seen from the table, the ratio of proteins and fats in these diets is approximately at the same level. When considering the first three components of the feed (they are the main ones), the following picture emerges:

*ROYAL CANIN Dermacomfort - Rice, wheat gluten, wheat; *ROYAL CANIN Sensible - Rice, dehydrated poultry, animal fats; *PURINA PRO PLAN Sensitive Digestion - Lamb (19%), corn, dried poultry protein; *1st CHOICE Sensitive Skin&Coat - Lamb flour, herring fat, brown rice; *PRONATURE Original - Chicken flour, ground corn, wheat bran; *SAFARI Hypoallergenic - Meat meal (duck 23%), oats (23%), hulled oats; *PROBALANCE Hypoallergenic - Rice, barley, dehydrated poultry (23%); *BLITZ Turkey&Barley - Dehydrated turkey and pork (17%), barley, rice.

The most attractive in this context is the ROYAL CANIN Sensible diet, however, it also contains corn gluten and vegetable protein. If we consider food for dogs with sensitive skin (ROYAL CANIN Dermacomfort), then all three first places in it are occupied by cereals, including wheat.

The 1st CHOICE Sensitive diet also looks tempting, but it also contains grains, but with a low allergenic factor - rice, pearl barley and oatmeal.

PURINA also contains several types of corn, and therefore its actual content turns out to be an order of magnitude greater than it seems at first glance.

PRONATURE was also no exception and already in second and third places we can see corn and wheat bran.

How do the domestic feeds in question look against this background? Indeed, there are also cereals in the first place, but unlike their opponents, they do not contain corn and wheat at all. Instead, the composition includes healthier and less allergenic cereals - oats, barley, rice.

If we consider the part of the composition that has been left unattended, we will see that domestic feed is additionally enriched with such useful components as: prebiotics, glucosamine, chondroitin, antioxidants, herbs, Omega fatty acids. Similar additives can be seen in proven foreign feeds.

Such an important parameter as feeding standards was not left unattended, since the larger the portion an animal needs to eat, the lower the digestibility and, as a result, the quality of the feed. In this case, the serving size will practically not change, regardless of what diet you choose.

Benefits of premium dog food

The most important advantage of premium food is its high quality, which is noted by the owners of four-legged friends. The basis of the food is ingredients that can be consumed by the person himself; such food undergoes strict quality control and strict selection.

  • The nutritional set consists of natural vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, cereals and medicinal herbs.
  • They do not contain synthetic impurities or preservatives; they also contain Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, which are very important for the dog’s body.

Types of canned food for dogs

In order not to get lost when going to the counter to buy food for your pet, you need to look through reviews of canned food for dogs from all the manufacturers presented, and then make a comparison.

Do not forget that only a certain food will be most suitable for each breed; the age of the four-legged friend is also taken into account.

There are several types of products, their differences look like this:

  1. Price. There are economy, middle, premium and super premium classes.
  2. Purpose. There is everyday, gourmet and medicinal food.
  3. Age. Puppies, teenagers and adults eat differently.
  4. Weight. Small, medium and large individuals.
  5. Package. On the shelves you can find cans, portion boxes and packaged types of goods.

Experts note that the best option for any average family would be middle-class food, the price does not greatly compress the budget, and the quality will remain at a high level.

Important! The lower the price, the more the product contains flavorings and meat-replacing by-products. Among the additives, regular gelatin is often found, which does not provide maximum nutritional value or benefit.

Rating of the best premium dog food (TOP 10)

The most popular type of food is dry food; the rating includes the best and highest quality food from different manufacturers.

This rating of premium dog food includes the most worthy and high-quality options that you can safely feed your pets.

But it is important to remember that the same brand can produce a whole line of food, so you need to study the composition and select exactly the food that your pet needs.

Production of dry food in Russia

If a chronicle of the Russian production of food for cats and dogs existed, it would certainly have included a chapter about the Mars company and about the marketing noise with which “Western” pet food appeared on the shelves of supermarkets and the then few pet stores. “Your pussy would buy Whiskas” - an advertising slogan of the 90s that was not heard except by the deaf. But no books have been written about this, so we’ll tell you about the first steps of Russian “feed makers”, how production developed in Russia and who makes the difference in the market today.

International companies

Mars. A breakthrough in feed production in Russia was the opening of Mars factories. She risked entering the completely empty Russian pet market before anyone else, and she alone had to break through the wall of consumer mistrust in industrial feed. The first was a plant in the Luzhniki village of the Stupino urban district, which began producing dry food in 1995. In 2002, a plant opened in the Novosibirsk region. Now the range of these enterprises differs, but only slightly. Thus, in Luzhniki near Moscow, the entire commercial range of dry food is produced, including Whiskas®, Pedigree®, Kitekat™, Chappi®, Perfect Fit™ and Nature's Table™ products, and the Novosibirsk factory produces dry products of the Whiskas®, Pedigree®, Kitekat™ brands , Chappi®. The factories are capable of producing products weighing from 0.19 to 15 kg.

95% of raw materials for Mars Petcare in Russia are from local suppliers. Russian Mars feed production plants are focused on meeting domestic demand. A small share of products is exported to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Mars enterprises became not only the first example of high-quality production of dry food for cats and dogs in Russia, but also a school for a large number of specialists in its technology. After all, before Mars arrived on the Russian market, there was little knowledge in this area. Employees with experience working at the company’s factories were worth their weight in gold; they were eagerly recruited and subsequently bought up by those who risked opening their own production in Russia.

Aller PetFood. At the very beginning of the 2000s, an enterprise of the Danish family company Aller PetFood was opened in Tver. Production was located at the Tver plant, equipped with European equipment.

Today, Aller Petfood Group is a leader in the Russian private label feed market. Its arsenal includes the entire production cycle - from the idea and formulation of diet formulas to the design, production of packaging and packaging of finished feed. The plant produces economy and premium class products. In addition to private labels, the plant produces its own brands, well known on the Russian market: All Dogs & All Cats, All Puppies and Tasty. Mostly Russian raw materials are used for production, imported ingredients make up a small part.

Royal Canin. In 2004, the Royal Canin factory in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region began producing dry food. It was one of the first factories in the country to produce premium and super-premium food. In 2015, a second production line was opened, which doubled the plant's capacity. Today, the Royal Canin factory in Dmitrov produces 574 types of products out of 641 existing in the company’s portfolio.

Russian suppliers of raw materials account for 77%. Regardless of the country from which the raw materials come, the requirements for their quality are the same. The Royal Canin production complex is certified for exporting products to the countries of the Customs and European Union, China, Turkey and India.

Nestle. In the fall of 2007, the Nestlé Purina PetCare factory for the production of pet food, the largest among 13 Purina enterprises in Europe, opened in the village of Vorsino, Kaluga Region. Investments in the development of the enterprise amount to more than 22 billion rubles. The plant produces both dry and wet products.

The share of locally produced raw materials and packaging materials used at the Nestlé Purina PetCare factory is about 85%. Most of the meat ingredients used (chicken by-products, lamb, beef, pork, salmon, animal fats), vegetables, and grains are of Russian origin. The remaining quarter is imported minerals and nutrients, grain processing products, and some types of animal flour.

All Purina products meet the same high quality standards, regardless of the country of production. Among the brands produced are Felix, Purina One, Purina One Mini, Pro Plan, Friskies, Darling, Cat Chow, Dog Chow. The factory's products are exported to 14 countries in Europe and the CIS.

Since May 2022, the plant has been using electricity from renewable sources, in particular generated from wind energy.

Provimi. The Provimi holding was founded in the 1930s in Rotterdam (Netherlands). The company began its activities with the production of feed for farm animals. In November 2011, the company was purchased by the American company Cargill.

Provimi has been operating in Russia for more than twenty years. Now the company has six factories, one of which, located in the city of Klin, produces food for pets. The plant was put into operation in 2008 and is equipped with a modern automated line with a capacity of 36 thousand tons per year, the latest Wenger and Van Aarsen equipment. Both domestic and imported raw materials are used in production.

The company produces its own brand of feed, Provipet, and offers services for manufacturing feed products according to its own recipes or according to customer recipes. At the Provimi plant, by order of third-party organizations, feed brands are produced: Blitz, Skif, Trapeza, Oscar, MonAmi, LiveRa, Darsi.

Russian professionals

After the triumphant entry of imported brands into the emerging Russian industrial feed market, Russian businessmen began to think about their own production. It promised good profits and looked very promising in light of the growing demand for pet products. By that time, there were feed mills in the country that produced feed for productive animals. The production technology at many of them made it possible to produce food for cats and dogs. Almost the entire history of the emergence of foreign brands for pets is connected with companies producing products for farm animals (Royal Canin, Aller Pet Food, Bosch...), so the attempts of Russian feed manufacturers to enter the Russian market with pet food seemed quite natural.

"Flour Mill". One of the first experiments in large-scale production of Russian dry pet food was that which opened in 1998 in Tver and produced the legendary Trapeza brand. A method for producing dry pet food using meat raw materials was developed and patented by Famel specialists. Since the company was part of the Melkombinat agricultural holding, it did not experience any problems with raw materials for production. The plant could produce products with a protein content of up to 20%, which at that time was a serious breakthrough. A unique feature of the production was that the industrial line was “fitted” into an existing building, which required unusual engineering solutions: the plant was located on several floors of an adapted premises. The average annual production volume in 1998 was about 4 thousand tons of dry food. For further development of the product, scientific developments were needed, which were absent in Russia at that time, and the owners of the company decided to focus on Danish scientists, with whom they entered into a cooperation agreement. Subsequently, this production became part of the business of the Aller Petfood company, and today it develops the Trapeza trademark.

Gatchina KKZ. An example of successful production diversification can be cited based on the experience of the Gatchina KKZ. Today this company unites three factories: the production of feed for farm animals and birds, dry and canned food for cats and dogs.

The plant for the production of dry food for dogs and cats began operating in 2006. The production is equipped with Danish equipment, packaging lines are made in Germany and Italy. The plant is fully automated and allows the production of feed of all classes - from economy to superpremium, in packaging from 0.3 to 18 kg.

The main component in dry food is high-quality poultry meal. Fresh offal and meat products from beef, lamb, veal, and rabbit are also introduced into the feed. Fishmeal and oil are used. Russian-made raw materials are used in production.

JSC Gatchina KKZ produces food under its own brands “Nasha Marka”, “Stout”, “TerraKot”, “TerraPes”, “ZakormaRodiny”. In addition, the company places orders for the production of private brands from large retail chains and distribution companies. Feed supplies are carried out throughout Russia, as well as to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.

"Limkorm". The plant was conceived by the owners as the production of food for valuable fish species. But at the stage of purchasing a production line, the idea came to not limit ourselves to this and expand the range of products. The choice was made in favor of a ten-ton extruder from Wenger, capable of, among other things, producing food for dogs and cats. Production started in 2015. Today, the plant’s capacity is 35 thousand tons per year, products range from economy to super premium class (the technology allows the production of feed with a 30% animal protein content). The plant's capacity is 100% loaded, it produces products under its own brands “Our Ration”, Sirius, the hypoallergenic Sirius Platinum line and a number of popular brands C, Karmy, Zooring. The plant works only with the best producers of beef, lamb, poultry and fish from the Belgorod region. The holding produces for its needs a number of premixes for dry food and a probiotic complex.

Currently, the design of the second plant has been completed, the foundation is being laid in the city of Gubkin, Belgorod Region, and the equipment purchased for it will arrive at the end of the first quarter of 2022. It is assumed that all production of dry food for dogs and cats will be transferred to this plant. The planned capacity of the plant with two installed extruders is 70 thousand tons per year. It will use the technology of producing feed with raw meat in the recipe.

"Fast and Furious". The production of canned food for pets began in the Tula region in 2016 with the introduction of the Chammy brand to the market and the fulfillment of orders for private labels of the federal chains “Da!”, “Lenta”, “Verny”, “Maria Ra”. The plant uses raw materials from Russian manufacturers.

In 2022, the production of dry food was launched, for which a separate workshop was equipped. The recipe was developed by technologists and consultants from companies that are world market leaders in this segment. The industrial capacity of the plant is 15 thousand tons per year. Economy and middle class products are produced, in packages from 0.35 to 18 kg, and it is planned to produce premium food in the near future.

"GrosChef". The plant in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region began producing dry food in the fall of 2022. Now it is a separate line in a special workshop. The technology is based on the experience of German manufacturers, but finalized by plant specialists. The equipment is imported. The current monthly capacity of the enterprise is 50 tons of products, in packages from 0.3 to 18 kg.

The plant produces products under its own brands Grand Prix and Jump! super premium and middle classes. The plant does not accept private orders.

Meat flour and dried meat are used, among the protein components are chicken, rabbit, lamb, beef, turkey and various types of fish. The raw materials are Italian, Peruvian, French and Russian.

The company plans to expand production. By mid-2021, it is planned to build a two-story production and warehouse complex with an area of 5 thousand m2 and launch a new line of dry granulated feed, which will allow increasing production volume to 1.2 thousand tons per month by 2024.

"Miratorg". In order to diversify its business, ABH Miratorg decided to start producing pet food. In April 2022, a PetFood plant opened in the Kursk region. Based on the experience of the world's leading companies from the Netherlands, France and Spain, Miratorg managed to create a high-tech production facility that allows adding fresh meat during the extrusion process. The design capacity of the plant is 33 thousand tons of finished products per year.

The company produces premium dry food, packaged from 0.05 to 10 kg, under the Winner brand. Ingredients include dehydrated and fresh beef, veal, chicken, fresh salmon and salmon oil, as well as corn and rice. Dried vegetables, fruits, berries, and natural antioxidants are used.

In the future, it is planned to develop the production of dry food in the super premium segment.

"Biotech". The plant in Rostov-on-Don is engaged in the production of food and treats for birds, rodents, cats and dogs under private labels, and produces food of its own brand “Lucky” for cats and dogs. Products are manufactured on modern equipment using premium raw materials. Production expansion is planned.

"ProdKontrakt-Invest" The plant in Belaya Kalitva, Rostov region, produces products from the famous brands “Night Hunter”, Puffins, “Amurr”, Herbax, and “True Friends”. It has its own line of dry food, equipped with Gruber and Wenger equipment.

Agro-industrial complex and other manufacturers

In addition to factories of international companies and large Russian first-tier manufacturers, the country has many small industries that are based in agricultural enterprises. Their location is determined by their proximity to sources of raw materials - agricultural regions. Among the products, the most often produced are economy-class dog food with protein from plant ingredients, packaged in large bags.

Among the local ones (Moscow), Norman (Novosibirsk region), Laiswood (Rostov-on-Don), which produce dog food under the same brands, as well as Assortment Agro (Sergiev Posad) with the Favorit brand; “Ganesha” (Voronezh region) - brands Mr.Dog, Mr.Cat; "Lipman" (Oryol region) - "Healthy Friends"; Porcelan (Novosibirsk region) - Estrudo feed; “Our City” (Stupino) – brands “Syty Pes”, “Syty Kot”; “Aleyskzernoprodukt” (Altai Territory) - “Dilli” feed; “Pro Ration” (Novosibirsk region) Delicana brand.

This is a small but promising segment of Russian pet food production. Basic products are in some demand and are sometimes popular in local markets. But, most often, they are not complete.

Reason for good news

If we consolidate the existing information, it becomes clear that the bulk of dry food in Russia is produced at the factories of international brands Mars, Nestle, Royal Canin, Aller Petfood, and Provimi. They are, as a rule, the main consumers of raw materials in the ingredients market in Russia. Market leaders set high standards in technology and quality and stimulate the development of the industry as a whole.

Production is actively developing at Russian factories focused on the production of dry food for cats and dogs. The capacities of almost all plants are at capacity, so the active expansion of existing production and the design and construction of new plants is not surprising. In terms of equipment and technology, factories of Russian manufacturers are no longer inferior to international companies, which is also reflected in the quality of the manufactured product.

Feed produced at agro-industrial complex enterprises does not make a difference in the Russian market, but they add some individual characteristics to it.

Today it is absolutely clear that it is this segment of the market - dry food for cats and dogs - that is of interest to our manufacturer and provides powerful motivation for the development and improvement of production in the country. This means that in the near future we can expect good news from dry food manufacturers in Russia.

Principles of feeding premium feeds

Proper feeding of a dog is the key to its health, so every owner of a four-legged friend should know the principles of feeding.

  • Dogs may eat even when full, causing them to exceed their daily caloric intake. To prevent this from happening, it is important to give food in portions, calculating the portion based on the weight and size of the dog; you also need to calculate the number of calories per day that the dog should receive.
  • Dogs digest food quickly, so they need to be fed small portions three to four times a day. The smell of food is a very important factor, because pets often rely on smell.

A dog’s stomach is not capable of digesting all food products, so to obtain specific vitamins and minerals, they only need to eat properly selected food that already contains this complex.

FAQ

Should I buy canned food or dry food?

Let's say you've decided on a brand. The only thing left to decide is canned food or dry food. Canned food has a number of advantages. Firstly, no artificial colors or flavors are added to them. Secondly, it maintains water-salt balance well. And thirdly, they are easier to digest, and they look more appetizing.

There are also disadvantages. Once opened, canned food has a short shelf life; in this regard, dry food has a big advantage. Also, feeding dry food will be several times cheaper than canned food. And you can’t go outside with a tin can if the dog receives part of the daily allowance for working on the site. The convenience of the owner plays a role here. In addition, these feeding methods can always be combined.

Tips for choosing premium dog food

When choosing food, you need to focus on many factors, including the dog's age and size.

  • Puppies – they are constantly growing and need enough nutrients. It is necessary to choose specialized food for puppies that will allow them to grow and develop properly.
  • Adult dogs – You should switch to food for adult dogs when your pet is one year old.
  • Elderly dogs are dogs from six years old; their diet should contain a complex for aging joints. It is important to avoid foods with a lot of salt, as older dogs may have kidney problems.

You need to focus on both the composition and the price of premium dog food, which cannot be too low. When choosing food for your pet, you also need to consider the size of the dog.

There are foods for large and giant breeds, for medium breeds and for small breeds. Some owners prefer universal foods for all breeds, which are balanced, but divided into classes by age.

You need to take into account your pet’s health problems, allergies and body characteristics; properly selected food will help your dog be healthy, energetic and happy.

What is the difference between holistic and other foods?

Considered from a marketing point of view, the price of holistic food is high. Despite this, they are increasingly promoted by economics and veterinary medicine, convincing consumers to use only this type of food. There is a share of rational decision in this approach and is explained by several reasons.

  1. The composition includes natural ingredients. All components (vegetables, root vegetables, meat or fish fractions, berries, fruits, grains) correspond to the quality indicators of products suitable for human consumption. Manufacturers claim that people can eat holistic food without experiencing any problems, and it is safe for children. This concept was defined as “human grade” - a revolutionary approach to nutrition.
  2. All components are balanced and tested by food and drug control associations in the USA, which guarantees the complete absence of chemical derivatives.
  3. The holistic food recipe is based on the needs of pets depending on age, breed, category. It is based on 70 percent protein food and 30 percent protein. In feeds of a lower class, the same proportion is observed, but the source is by-products and meat processing residues. The pet receives protein without protein. To satiate you need a much larger portion. The choline approach guarantees satiety due to the complete absorption of components.
  4. This type of food provides a varied diet in taste characteristics. If you do it yourself, you will have to spend a lot of effort creating a menu, selecting components daily, and calculating the ingredients.
  5. Cholines use poultry, lean beef and lamb. Particular attention is paid to Omega-3 acids and phosphorus by extraction from the salmon and cod fish families.
  6. Vitamin supplements are obtained from fresh berries, fruits, vegetables, seaweed, which affects hair growth and strengthening bone tissue.
  7. Holistic food can be stored for up to a year. Vitamins E and C and rosemary oil act as preservatives. This approach increases appetite and increases the ability to quickly and efficiently digest food. Allergies are excluded in animals, as is often the case with cheaper feed options.

Owners complain that holistic treatments are too expensive. Due to the all-natural ingredients, the price seems overpriced. If you prepare a complete diet for your beloved pet yourself, it will cost much more. It is necessary to take into account many factors that influence the absorption of nutrition, its characteristics, dependence on the dog’s age, breed, size, and daily routine.

Meow

Mjau (Meow) feed production is located in one of the most beautiful places in Sweden. It is here that farmers use the least amount of chemicals than in other countries of the world, and Swedish livestock have been a guarantor of the quality and safety of agricultural production for many decades. And according to manufacturers, the raw materials used in Mjau (Meow) feed are of the highest quality, without chemical additives, hormones, dyes and antibiotics.

Reviews for this product are mixed. Some buyers compare it with Kitekat food, but cheaper. However, it is important to understand that Meow food is an economy class food. Its low cost matches its quality.

Advantages: very low price. The food does not have a strong odor, but rather has an appetizing aroma. Almost all the granules are intact, and the food does not feel greasy to the touch. Quite a lot of flavours.

Disadvantages: the composition is veiled. There are animal by-products and grains that are very harmful to the digestive system of cats. Contains preservatives and antioxidants. It is not advisable to use it as a permanent food. Cats become addicted to food.
