- German boxer
German Boxers are excellent watchdogs. Dogs of this breed are famous for their fearless and balanced character. Boxers become attached to their family and, if properly trained, get along well with all family members and other animals. They are suspicious of strangers. They are also good as a companion dog and family dog.
- Country of origin : Germany
- Height at withers : males 57-63 cm, females 53-59 cm
- Weight : males ~30 kg, females ~25 kg
- Lifespan : 11-12 years
- Use : companion dog, service dog, guard
Purchasing a German Boxer puppy is a responsible and important action that you need to think carefully about before you do it. This is especially true for those people who are going to become truly responsible dog breeders. The question of choice should be approached carefully and without haste, comparing your own habits, daily routine and the nature of the chosen breed. When the future owner has decided on the breed, a new dilemma arises: how to find a bona fide breeder? Here you need to be extremely careful not to become a prematurely disappointed dog owner.
Buying a German Boxer puppy is a very exciting event, because you can say that a new family member will appear. To ensure that the event does not overshadow anything, it is worth taking a responsible approach to choosing a breeder. There are no bad dog breeds; you can simply run into an unscrupulous breeder for whom money comes first. The future owner is at great risk of buying an animal that has a lot of health problems. It is for this reason that you need, first of all, to get to know the breeder well, read reviews about him and the like.

About the nursery
Nikink-Var-Hard nursery welcomes you!
Let's get acquainted:
Yulia Valerievna Nikitenko – dog handler, open category judge Sergey Borisovich Nikitenko – dog handler, trainer-trainer, performance judge.
Sergey is a prize-winner of the Russian IPO Championships, a participant in the FCI and WUSV IPO World Championships as part of the Russian national team in 2013 and 2014
We are the founders and owners of the Nikink-Var-Hard nursery. Our kennel is registered in the RKF - FCI, in the RFLS Federation, is a member of the Kennel Club of St. Petersburg and the NCP "German Boxer".
The name for the nursery was not chosen by chance. Nikink is an abbreviation of our surname Nikitenko, and Var and Hard are part of the names of dogs that lived in our family at the time of the creation of the kennel. Var - boxer Variation, Hard - Rottweiler Harold Life.
We started breeding German boxers in the 90s. Realizing that in the city it was almost impossible for all our dreams and plans to come true, we exchanged our city apartment for a house with a plot in the small cozy village of Levashovo within the city of St. Petersburg. Here the main work on the creation and construction of our nursery began.
We organized a grandiose redevelopment of the house, taking into account the specifics of working with dogs - we made a specially equipped room for dogs, rooms for giving birth to bitches and small puppies, built comfortable outdoor enclosures with individual walks and, of course, a separate large and comfortable walk for adult boxers - big fans of play and frolic in the fresh air.
In 1999, we officially registered our nursery.
The first basic bitch and the founder of the kennel was a dog with Polish and English blood, Benvenju Variacia Valerie. The puppies received from her then were already of the desired, modern type.
In the 90s in Russia, the blood of dogs from leading European kennels was actively used to produce boxer offspring. Dogs from Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and France were especially in demand. In those years, we focused our personal breeding on the best sires and descendants of the Italian nurseries “Del Colle Dell'Infinito” and “Della Cadormare”, as well as the Spanish nursery “Di Soragna”.
Currently, we are working on several breeding lines at once; we use breeding animals obtained from different base bitches acquired at the time of the formation of the nursery.
The goal of our work is to obtain pedigree, preferably of the same type, offspring from our dogs, superior in quality to at least one of the parents. Or, if the parent himself is of the highest class, consolidating his qualities in his children. But, of course, in addition to developing a stable number of dogs in the kennel, we also want to get bright representatives of the breed who can worthily represent the kennel. The result of this work can be assessed at exhibitions of various levels both in Russia and abroad. Our dogs participate in such exhibitions and become prize-winners.
Over the years of work, more than 100 boxer litters and more than 600 puppies with the Nikink-War-Hard prefix have been registered in our kennel.
The staff of our nursery is our greatest pride, our support and support, people who have forever given their hearts and souls to boxers. Their contribution to the development of the nursery is priceless!
We have one very pleasant tradition - this is the annual breeding review of our dogs, which we called “KENNEL DAY”. The first such show took place in 2006, and since then every year in mid-September we gather the owners of our boxers for this, one might say, family holiday.
The holiday program is always very eventful, including a parade of participants and a ceremonial lineup, summing up the results of the nursery’s work and awards, presenting memorable gifts to each participant in the review, including numerous guests who also come to congratulate us and rejoice with us.
Then an exciting series of competitions begins, the main participants of which are our boxers. Dynamic, fun team relay races - one for children, small, but already boxer athletes, the other for adults, where the teams already consist of pairs - a person and a dog. And the culmination of the holiday is tea drinking, traditional barbecue, pies and other treats. The site has many photos and videos about this holiday.
We are happy to do what we love! In our house there is practically no lull from the cheerful barking and hubbub of little puppies, which, growing up, go to their new families to give joy to their new owners.

German Boxer puppy from the Nikink-Var-Hard kennel.
A complete package of documents for a German boxer puppy
When buying a German Boxer puppy from a kennel, you need to carefully check the required list of documents.
Veterinary passport , better than the international standard. This is the main document of the dog, regardless of the breed of the animal. It contains the necessary information about the owner and the pet itself. When purchasing a puppy, the passport must contain notes regarding treatment against parasites, as well as primary vaccination. You need to ask the breeder when the next vaccination is.
Kennel mark , which is usually affixed in the groin area or on the inner surface of the ear. Thanks to the brand, the dog can be accurately identified in various official cynological systems and the Russian Cynological Federation. A German Boxer puppy from a proven, legally operating kennel cannot be without a brand. Therefore, if it is missing, there is no need to listen to fairy tales, but feel free to leave; buying from such a dubious place is not recommended. In addition to branding, breeders microchip their dogs, which indicates the high professionalism of the breeder. A pet without a chip cannot travel abroad with its owner, because having a chip is a prerequisite.
The pet's primary document is the German Boxer puppy's metric , which is necessary for the further process of registering the pedigree. In this document, the following information is indicated: the puppy’s parents, breed, owner and breeder information, gender, date of birth, brand, nickname. The document must be certified by the seals of the kennel, as well as the kennel club. The person responsible for breeding work is required to sign the puppy's certificate. At the top of the document, you can read what canine system the selected breeder uses.
