This is especially true for those people who are going to become truly responsible dog breeders. The question of choice should be approached carefully and without haste, comparing your own habits, daily routine and the nature of the chosen breed. When the future owner has decided on the breed, a new dilemma arises: how to find a bona fide breeder? Here you need to be extremely careful not to become a prematurely disappointed dog owner.

Buying a Welsh Corgi puppy is a very exciting event, because you can say that a new family member will appear. To ensure that the event does not overshadow anything, it is worth taking a responsible approach to choosing a breeder. There are no bad dog breeds; you can simply run into an unscrupulous breeder for whom money comes first. The future owner is at great risk of buying an animal that has a lot of health problems. It is for this reason that you need, first of all, to get to know the breeder well, read reviews about him and the like.

What does the price depend on?

In Russia, corgi puppies are sold for different prices. The formation of value is influenced by the following factors:

  1. Age of the animal.
  2. Color.
  3. Breed class.
  4. Place of purchase.
  5. Purebred.
  6. Health status.
  7. Availability of veterinary documents (passports, cards).
  8. Number of required vaccinations given.
  9. Having titled parents.
  10. Sales region.

In the capital, such a puppy is sold at a higher price than on the outskirts of the city. Purebred representatives are more expensive than a cross between a purebred dog and a mongrel. Having titled parents, pedigree and veterinary documentation makes the puppy more valuable. A completely healthy and vaccinated animal costs more than one that has some health problems.

Depending on the age of the animal, you can buy a Corgi puppy:

  • 1-1.5 months.
  • Two months old.
  • 3-3.5 months.
  • Four months old.
  • 5-5.5 months.
  • Six months old.

The older the pet, the lower the price it can be purchased. Corgis are usually sold between 1.5 and 2 months . During this period, the puppy is ready to be separated from its parents and adapts well to its new family.

Depending on the type of breed, you can purchase a corgi:

  • Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
  • Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Both subspecies are equally valuable and rare.

Dogs are sold depending on their purebred:

  • Show class (these individuals are purebred, have a pedigree, all veterinary documents, can take part in exhibitions and take first places).
  • Pet class (may have deviations from the standard, suitable for those people who primarily need a companion).
  • Breeding class (such animals are purchased for the purpose of obtaining purebred offspring, they have all veterinary documents).

Show class puppies are the most expensive. A more economical purchase option are representatives of the pet class.

Classification by place of purchase:

  • According to an advertisement in a newspaper (on the Internet), submitted by an ordinary Corgi dog owner.
  • From a breeder who breeds corgis professionally.
  • At the pet market.
  • In the nursery.

It will cost more to buy from a breeder or a nursery. If you want to save money, then you should look for a corgi at a pet market or on the Internet.

Ice Guard!

Friendly and very cute royal pets can be seen at many important events and ceremonies, where they solemnly arrive together with their eminent owner.

This once again confirms that the British Cattle Dog is an excellent companion who knows how to behave with dignity in any situation.

To date, several varieties of Welsh Corgi have been registered:

· Pembroke Welsh Corgis – are small in size – no more than 30 cm in height at the withers;

· Cardigan Welsh Corgis are also low at the withers and have a characteristic brindle color.

The main arguments to buy a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy

· Dimensions.

The height of an adult animal does not exceed 30 cm at the withers, so such a pet can be accommodated even in a small apartment. As practice shows, if there are rubber toys in the room, your pet’s teeth will be occupied by them, so your belongings and interior items will remain safe and sound.

· Friendly character.

Friendliness and balance are characteristic features of the Welsh breed. Since these are herding dogs, they are accustomed to being close to a person and helping him in everything. The animal usually quickly gets used to small and adult family members, protecting them as if it were its own pack.

· Easy care.

Many potential dog owners are afraid of a lot of fuss with fur. In this regard, British watchdogs are an ideal option. They do not require haircut or trimming, just a regular comb is enough. Until the dog sheds, it is recommended to brush the coat once a week.

· Companion for walks and games.

When you decide to buy a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, you will have the opportunity to increase your physical activity. The Welsh enjoy active outdoor play, but there is no need to run multi-kilometer runs. For the dog’s health, two or three walks a day lasting up to 40 minutes are enough.

· Developed intelligence.

British Cattle Dogs are very intelligent and easily learn useful skills. The pet will remember the command after 2-4 repetitions.

· Ability to get along with people.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies are suitable for young and old people, families with children. You will get a loyal and cheerful friend who gets along well with everyone and is always liked. You probably won't have to hear the unpleasant phrase “Get your dog away!” when you go for a walk or are in a public place.

Delicate and well-mannered “Welsh” people do not have the habit of barking and harassing those around them, so animals make a positive impression on people. Amazing charisma is impossible not to notice! Dogs of this breed almost always have a great mood and a friendly expression on their faces, so they cannot be scared. On the contrary, everyone will want to get to know your four-legged companion better.
