General position

Dog shows NKP (National Winners Club) are held in accordance with these Regulations of the RKF and are divided into the following ranks:

• Rank CHK (National Club Champion).
• Rank PC (National Club Winner).
• Rank CC (Candidate for champion of the national breed club).

Dog breeds that are officially recognized by the RKF and FCI are allowed to participate. Organizers of a monobreed exhibition are required to check all dogs listed in the catalog to see if they are registered in the country's Pedigree Book. At all special breed exhibitions, a ring must be organized for dogs, which must receive a description from an expert (judge) of the RKF.

Care and maintenance

Thanks to its compact size, the Welsh Corgi is easy to keep in an apartment. Caring for them does not require large amounts of time and money. They do not require a large space for a comfortable existence, and even novice dog breeders can raise a corgi. However, we must remember that this breed is extremely social and does not like to be alone.

Before purchasing a dog, you need to take care of arranging its sleeping place. It should not be located in a draft or near heating devices. The litter should be removable and easy to clean. Also, purchase toys in advance that will not let your baby get bored in your absence and will help prevent your things from being chewed. If the puppy does not have allergies, then during the period of changing teeth, let him chew on pieces of carrots, hard apples, deer antlers have proven themselves well - natural delicacies.

The Welshie's thick coat requires brushing several times a week. This must be done regularly, including to remove dead hairs and to improve ventilation of the animal’s skin. They do not need frequent washing; we bathe them only when they get dirty and only with the use of special products for caring for the dog’s coat (shampoos, conditioners, masks, keratin, etc.). To avoid colds, we only take a completely dry dog ​​outside. In dirty and wet weather, it is better to wear overalls to protect the fur. After preventive vaccinations, you cannot wash for a week. Pay attention to the condition of your eyes and ears. A healthy dog's eyes are clean and free of smudges. To care for your ears, you can purchase a special cleaning lotion. Using it and cotton swabs, we remove excess wax from the ears (if any).

Do not forget to regularly treat your pet for parasites, as well as get annual preventive vaccinations.

At first, the puppy should eat only the food that the breeder taught him to eat. Until one year of age, you should absolutely not give any treats from a pet store. Their use in a puppy often leads to digestive problems of varying severity - from diarrhea to gastroenteritis. When choosing the type of food for your dog, give preference to expensive dry food from well-known brands. They are completely balanced in the content of minerals and nutrients necessary to maintain a healthy dog. If you still prefer to feed your pet natural food, then do not forget that it should always be fresh. Lean meat without skin and bones, offal, cereals (buckwheat, rice, oats), vegetables, low-fat dairy products, and herbs are allowed. And of course, we exclude fried, smoked, sweet, salty, flour, etc. If you notice that your dog is overweight (and this cannot be ruled out, since corgis are known gluttons), feel free to reduce the amount of food in the bowl until until the dog loses weight.

Certificates and titles

In the ring, at the discretion of the expert, certificates may be issued and the following titles may be awarded:

• CW – class winner, awarded to the first dog in the class to receive the highest score. The winner of the class receives the title of JKCHK or CCC at single-breed exhibitions of the rank of CHK, PC, and at the CCC he competes for the assignment of CCC.
• SS certificate of conformity.
• USS certificate of conformity in the junior class.
• Yu.KChK-candidate for young champions of the National Club.
• Candidate for National Club Champion.
• Yu.PK is the young winner of the National Club Club.
• PC-winner of the National Club.
• J.ChK - junior champion of the National Club.
• CHK-champion of the NKP.

At the exhibition

• You must arrive one hour before the event starts.
• Go through veterinary control (vet passport check, certificate). After which they give you a ticket.
• Registration. You issue a receipt for veterinary control and receive your number and catalog.

Corgis always have a respectful attitude towards people. The breed purpose of the corgi is herding work, which requires great physical strength and dexterity. Hence their incredible activity, their willingness to always run and run wild, despite their seemingly clumsy build.

• Courage is one of the character traits inherent in this breed genetically. If the ancestors, protecting their herd, had to engage in battle with predators, then your pet will not be afraid to defend itself and its family from the enemy, regardless of its size.
• Corgis love to talk and can express their mood with a variety of sounds. In addition to whining in different ways, in their performance you can often hear a whole concert of barking, quacking, squealing, and grumbling. Moreover, they do this so convincingly that the owner is forced to respond to such a non-trivial appeal. Their voice is quite low and you might think it belongs to a rather large dog.
• Instinctively, Pembrokes need to control all the people and animals around them. Their task is to organize movement in the right direction. This explains the Corgi's predilection for biting people's heels. To realize their shepherding skills, they need wards, in the role of which all family members and other pets will be forced to act. But don’t be alarmed, they can be weaned off this.
• Another characteristic feature of the breed is an excellent appetite, which was also inherited from its hard-working ancestors. Herding took a lot of energy and it was replenished exclusively by a hearty lunch. Today's dogs, of course, do not have such a load, but the habit of eating well remains. Therefore, you need to be especially careful with them when calculating portions for each feeding. Overeating will negatively affect the functioning of the dog’s entire body.
