All-Russian Specialty Show of Cairn Terriers in Moscow
Chilly autumn day. We are in Moscow, at the stadium. Znamensky brothers. Cloudy and damp. But neither the rainy weather nor the delay of the ring for almost two hours could spoil our mood, because people who were passionate about one thing, who loved and developed the Cairn Terrier . 20 dogs were entered into the special breed show of Cairn Terriers of the Club Winner rank. 19 participated. Mostly dogs from Moscow were represented, one baby - Malet Park Vivat Kubik (owner E. Ivanova) - came from Veliky Novgorod. our Rus Ekan Besi Beltran (owner T. Zaichenko) represented St. Petersburg. It has already become a tradition that the largest number of exhibitors were presented in the baby, puppy and junior classes. All this suggests that the breed is developing. The large and bright hall of the sports complex welcomed us warmly. The National Breed Club did everything to ensure that the exhibition was held at the highest level. A spacious ring that gives our temperamental dogs the opportunity to show their movements and fully express themselves. The prizes were decorated with colored Cairn Terrier figures, and the prize fund did not disappoint. Each exhibitor received small prizes simply for participating, which was very nice. Separately, I would like to note the very competent and unbiased judging of A. Kazmierski, President of the Terrier Union of Poland. Gently but persistently, Mr. Kazmierski pointed out to some handlers the inadmissibility of double handling, and for irritable (not rude, but irritable) treatment of the dog, he generally deprived them of first place in the lineup. His friendly and tactful attitude towards the handlers, pleasant manner of communication further emphasized the holiday atmosphere. For us, who came to this exhibition from St. Petersburg, it was important to see the main population of Cairn Terriers in Russia, to watch and evaluate the younger generation and, of course, to participate in the exhibition. There was certainly a desire to win, but it was not voiced out loud (so as not to jinx it!). The first to enter the ring were the clumsy, childish babies. But not a shadow of fear or confusion! They walked around the ring cheerfully and very energetically and froze in their stance. So small, but already real terriers! The best baby was Joy Abus Enka. Paradise Berry from the House of Elive's entered the ring proudly and joyfully, but the little surprise she made in the form of a puddle embarrassed the little girl. Confused and with her ears back, feeling guilty, she was unable to fully open up in the ring. As a result - second place in the class. Then the puppies demonstrated their “Kernyak” beauty. They showed not only a decent exterior, but also an excellent psyche. Prettle Little Bee from House Elive's became not only the class winner, but also won the Best Puppy competition. The fight for the title of Young Club Winner has begun. They were Orlando Bloom iz Doma Eliv`s (owner V. Sadovskaya), Autumn Golden from Doma Eliv`s. (owner Sorokina, Davydova). Glenrose's Cool Blizzard (owner E. Sorokina) - the father of the first Cairn Terrier puppies born in our kennel in St. Petersburg - deservedly became the winner of the Club among males. And now adult bitches are already in the ring. We win the class and go to comparison. Tension in the ring and the same tense silence outside the ring. Everyone is waiting and hoping. Each to their own. Long comparison, showing dogs in motion and standing. In the hands of an expert is a huge, beautiful rosette. Who, oh who is it intended for?! And it happened! Our sunny girl Rus Ekan Bessie Beltran is the Club Winner! Nice and happy for the dog. And it is doubly pleasant that at this exhibition we represented our beautiful city - St. Petersburg. Best of Breed was Glenroses Cool Blizzard. (owner Sorokina). Unfortunately, only one nursery took part in the competition for the best nursery - “Iz Dom Eliv`s”. He became the best. We still have everything ahead. Let's race against time! The Best Pair of the exhibition was Autumn Zolotaya from the House of Elive's and Glenmore's Yuppy Yeah Anosh (owner E. Sorokina). We sincerely congratulate the winners and participants of the exhibition! The holiday has taken place!

High potential is determined during long-term observations of puppies: how they move, play with peers, freeze in stances, react to various stimuli, etc.The breeder's forecasts do not always come true 100%; the division into classes is subjective and we must take into account that we work with animals, and each of them can develop completely individually.
In dog breeding, puppies are obtained of various qualities: show, breed and pet classes. Quality determines not only the price of an animal, but also its purpose. Some then go to shows and breeding, others “to the sofa”.
How can you tell which puppy is suitable for what in the future?
SHOW-class or TOP-SHOW (from the English show - display, demonstration, appearance, ostentatious pomp, top - top, crown, highest).
These are the best puppies from the litter with great show prospects.
This includes puppies that fully comply with the standard. They are of high breed, have a minimum of shortcomings and not a single defect.
Such puppies, as a rule, remain in the nursery for further breeding work with them.
Such animals are decoration, pride and advertisement of the nursery.
The cost of such animals is maximum, and sometimes the breeder will not part with such a puppy for any money.

Also, show-class puppies can be purchased in co-ownership with a kennel, then their cost can be significantly lower.
If you want to have more guarantees when buying a show-class puppy, then we would advise buying a puppy after changing teeth, when everything is clear with the bite, anatomy, movements and temperament. The older the puppy, the more accurate the forecast!
BRID class (from the English breed - tribe, breed) Breed class dogs are fairly even in anatomy, dogs that have more flaws or are more pronounced than those of a show dog. These are, as a rule, females that form the backbone of kennels with good reproductive and hereditary characteristics. They consistently receive “excellent” or “very good” ratings at various exhibitions. Breed class females are very widely used in breeding and, with the right pairing, can produce outstanding offspring. Breed class puppies are cheaper than show puppies. At the same time, males of the breed class are almost never used for breeding.

These are puppies rejected from a litter that, according to the standard, have disqualifying defects that exclude the dog from participating in breeding (cryptorchidism, curled tail, malocclusion). These defects do not threaten the health and quality of life of the animal.
This includes bitches of lower quality than the breed (weakly expressed breed characteristics), in general those that are not of interest in breeding.
Such animals should not take part in breeding or exhibitions.
The cost of such puppies is lower than other classes.
