International Beauty Champion (Interchampion)

Dog show ranks: transcript

Inexperienced dog breeders often wonder how this or that abbreviation stands for (for example, CAC - what is it in dogs). The most common exhibition abbreviations in professional dog breeding have the following interpretation:

  • CACIB is an international event in which animals of different breeds take part;
  • CAC Black Sea Fleet - all-Russian exhibition events, where you can first become a candidate for Federation champion, and then a champion;
  • CHK is a national exhibition in which one breed (for example, only dachshunds or poodles) participates. They are usually organized by a national club;
  • PC is an event in which animals of the same breed from different regions participate.

When registering, an exhibition participant is assigned to a specific group according to age. Nowadays, many events provide online registration, which greatly simplifies organizational work.

Exhibitions of various ranks and scales are held in Russia

Dog handlers solved their problems

At the stand of the Russian Canine Federation in Amsterdam, many business and friendly meetings were held with Russian and foreign colleagues, important issues of cooperation and joint events, and the development of relations with canine organizations of other countries were discussed.

On August 14-15, an extraordinary session of the FCI General Assembly was held in Brussels, where the negotiations successfully started by the Russian delegation in Amsterdam continued. The result of the session was the approval of a new FCI charter, taking into account the interests of all its members as much as possible. At the end of the meetings, FCI President Rafael de Santiago and RKF President Vladimir Golubev exchanged impressions on the results of the event and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the discussions, in which the Russian delegation took an active part.

The next meeting of the General Assembly will take place in April 2019 in Shanghai. Preparations for it are already underway. Vladimir Golubev, elected president of the RKF in July of this year, considers one of the main tasks to bring Russia to those positions in the International Canine Organization, which our country, with its enormous achievements in the field of dog breeding, undoubtedly deserves.

Dog classes by age

Animals that belong to the following age groups have the right to take part in events to be awarded an honorary title:

  • baby (4-6 months);
  • puppy (six months-9 months);
  • junior (9 months to a year and a half);
  • young dogs (1.5-2 years);
  • classes – open, working, winners, champions (from 15 months to 8 years);
  • veterans (dogs over eight years old).

Attention! When assigning a pet to a particular age group, it is customary to specify the age on the day before the competition.
For example, if one turns six years old the day after the exhibition opens, the age is recorded as "five years".

Different age groups have different requirements, since the physical capabilities of puppies, adult dogs and veterans vary significantly. If the owner provides false documents, he is automatically disqualified and his pet is removed from the exhibition.

However, in some countries: 1) this rule does not apply (you need to close the champion title according to the rules of that country, gaining the required number of certificates; 2) there is a requirement that CAC must be obtained only at a CACIB rank show; 3) CAC is received not by the class winner, but by the Best Man and Best Man.

Titles awarded by RKF

  • Champion of Russia;
  • RKF Champion;
  • Champion of the breed;
  • Champion sire.

Juniors and veterans are given special certificates according to their age group.

Attention! The fight for the Russian champion title takes place between dogs of various breeds.

The Breed Champion event, on the other hand, is focused on one species.

There are several titles awarded by the RKF

Which age class can a dog be enrolled in?

The dog can be enrolled in junior, adult or veteran classes. Pets aged eight years and older are considered veterans, provided that they have previously participated in exhibitions several times.

Dog owners often mistakenly believe that the least stringent requirements apply to puppies and older dogs. However, in reality this is not the case. Dogs of any age group at shows are asked to the maximum, it’s just that the evaluation criteria will be different in each case. A puppy participating in the event for the first time has the advantage that in order to win, its owner does not need to present diplomas and certificates received previously. Thus, any puppy, properly trained and raised, can win.

As for dogs competing in the veteran category, on the contrary, they are required to present previously received awards and certificates. An older dog that has never participated in exhibitions before is unlikely to be allowed to compete.

It is strictly forbidden to carry out any fraud with the age of the animal in official documents. Unscrupulous owners who do this are automatically disqualified, thereby depriving their pet of any chance of further victories.

When assessing the real capabilities of his pet, the owner should focus not only on the biological age of the dog, but also on its current state of health. If an animal clearly cannot cope with the tasks of its age group, you should not apply to participate in order to avoid disappointment.

Attention! To confirm age, you must present his official passport. Without it, the pet will not be allowed to participate in the event.

What grades are puppies awarded at shows?

A schematic scale from “satisfactory” to “excellent” is used here. Some exhibitions additionally provide audience awards or special nominations, which are determined by the event organizer.
