I use scissors (thinning) only for the area under the tail and around the anus, I pluck out the ears (the upper third), I pluck the throat, then trim with thinning. I’ll immediately dispel another illusion. When you look at photos of Westies from shows or after grooming, you always notice a perfectly round head shape, the so-called CHRYSANTHEMUM. In 90% of West Highland White Terriers, this shape is achieved with the help of special styling cosmetics. If you ask your groomer to give your pet a head “like in the picture,” be prepared to wash off the styling products no later than after 48 hours. In combination with brushing, hair fixing products can harm your pet's coat and skin.
