Veterinary drug "Advocate" for dogs: dosage, instructions

Advocate drops (original name Advocate) for dogs are used as a means of preventing and treating our beloved pets with entomosis, nematodosis, sarcoptoidosis, otodecosis and demodicosis. Successful use of the drug has been noted for allergic dermatitis and dirofilariasis. Advocate drops for dogs, instructions for which are included with each package, perfectly destroy fleas on cats and dogs, which our pets often bring back from walks, so they are recommended not only for dogs, but also for cats. The drug is produced by Bayer (Germany).

Pharmacology and composition

Advocate drops for dogs are produced by the world-famous German company Bayer HealthCare AG. Veterinary products from this company are widely known in the pharmacological market and have been successfully used for years to treat and prevent diseases in animals.

The drug is a complex antiparasitic agent. It acts through the synthesis of 2 substances:

  • imidacloprid: insecticide, causes the death of ticks and fleas;
  • moxidectin: acts against nematodes (worms).

Imidacloprid spreads throughout the dog's skin and coat. It is released along with sebaceous secretions, penetrates the bodies of insects during bites, causing their paralysis and subsequent death. Moxidectin enters the systemic bloodstream, tissues and organs, leading to muscle innervation of nematodes and, as a result, death. Both substances protect against parasites for up to 1 month.

Moxidectin is similar in action to ivermectin. But, unlike it, it is not toxic to collies and similar breeds.

Lawyer for dogs: pharmacological effects

Drops are sold in small plastic syringes with a volume of 1 ml. Each capsule contains 2 active substances. The composition includes: imidacloprid in the amount of 100 mg in 1 syringe, as well as moxidectin at least 20 mg per 1 ml.

Advocate is sold in capsules with different volumes; the manufacturer immediately divided the products into small breed dogs and puppies, medium-weight animals and representatives of large breeds.

In addition to the active ingredients, oils and esters are added, which serve to moisturize the skin and prevent drying out, irritation, and allergies in the areas where parasite drops are applied.

ImidaclopridIt is a drug for external action on blood-sucking arthropods. It spreads over the dog's skin and fur and has an odor that repels insects and reptiles. This odor is not unpleasant to the dog or the human nose. The main action is aimed at lice, lice, fleas of all types.
MoxidectinCan penetrate the circulatory system through the outer skin membrane. The blood carries the substance to all tissues and cells, rids the dog of internal blood-sucking mites, and also has a detrimental effect on annelids or tapeworms. The main action is aimed at getting rid of cestodes and nematodes, however, the immunity of trematodes and other types of parasites also deteriorates, as a result of which they die, but later than other worms.

Advocate drops for dogs can rid an animal of 12 different types of parasites. The complex effect of the drug frees the pet owner from constant visits to the veterinary pharmacy. If an allergy is detected to any of the active ingredients, it will be easier for the doctor to identify the allergen and eliminate it.

Despite its broad impact on parasites, Advocate is quite acceptable to the dog’s body. It does not accumulate in the liver and is completely eliminated from the organs along with lymph, bile, and urine within 30 days from the moment of application. In order for the active substances to reach maximum concentration in the circulatory system, it will take from 4 to 9 days, depending on the size of the dog and the individual characteristics of its health.

Properties and pharmacodynamics

Thanks to its balanced composition, Advocate has a pronounced insecticidal and acaricidal effect. Refers to universal, combined medications with prolonged action.

Imidacloprid is a substance belonging to the group of chloronicotinyl insecticides. The mechanism of action is based on disruption of innervation, transmission of nerve impulses of ectoparasites, as well as interaction with acetylcholine receptors of arthropod blood-sucking insects, which leads to their death.

Advocate for dogs is available in pipettes of various sizes.

Moxidectin is a semi-synthetic compound from the milbemycin group. It is quickly adsorbed through the skin, penetrates the bloodstream, is evenly distributed in the body, and provides a prolonged effect. It has a stimulating effect on the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid, which, by binding to postsynaptic receptors of ecto- and endoparasites, provokes disruption of muscle innervation, which leads to instant paralysis and death of fleas, ticks, and nematodes.

The insecticidal effect after a single treatment of dogs lasts for four to six weeks, and the acaricidal effect lasts for 28-35 days.

Imidacloprid belongs to the group of chloronicotinyl insecticides, the mechanism of action of which is based on interaction with acetylcholine receptors of arthropods and disruption of the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to the death of insects. Moxidectin is a semi-synthetic compound of the milbemycin group (macrocyclic lactones), having a stimulating effect on the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid and binding to postsynaptic receptors, causing disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis and death of ectoparasites and nematodes. After applying the drug to the skin, imidacloprid is practically not absorbed, quickly distributed over the surface of the body and, remaining on the epidermis and fur, has a long-term contact insectoacaricidal effect. Moxidectin is well absorbed, enters the systemic bloodstream, organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in the blood plasma on days 4-9, and is excreted from the body within 30 days, mainly unchanged in feces. In terms of the degree of impact on the body, Advocate belongs to moderately dangerous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76): LD50 when administered orally to white mice is more than 1000 mg/kg, when applied cutaneously - more than 4000 mg/kg of animal weight; has weakly expressed cumulative properties. In recommended doses, the drug does not have locally irritating, embryotoxic, teratogenic, mutagenic or immunotoxic effects; well tolerated by dogs of various breeds, including collies and related dog breeds. The drug is toxic to fish and other hydrobioites.

ORDER OF APPLICATION Advocate is prescribed to dogs for the treatment and prevention of demodicosis, otodectosis, sarcoptic mange, entomosis, nematodes (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, hookworm, trichuriasis, angiostrongylosis, crenosomosis), prevention of dirofilariasis, as well as in the complex therapy of flea allergic dermatitis. A contraindication for use is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug. Lawyer is prohibited from being used on puppies under 7 weeks of age, dogs suffering from infectious diseases and convalescent dogs, as well as animals of other species. Treatment of dogs weighing less than 1 kg, pregnant and lactating bitches, if necessary, should be carried out with caution under the supervision of a veterinarian. The drug is used by drip (spot-on) application to dry, intact skin. Before use, remove the protective cap from the pipette and, positioning it vertically, pierce the protective membrane of the pipette nose (putting the cap on the back side), then remove the cap again. The drug, by spreading the fur, is applied to the animal in places inaccessible for licking, directly on the skin between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. When treating large animals, the contents of the pipettes are applied to the skin in 3-4 places. The minimum therapeutic dose of the drug for dogs is 0.1 ml/kg of animal weight (10 mg/kg imidacloprid and 2.5 mg/kg moxidesctin).

Depending on the weight of the animal, pipettes with the drug of various packaging are used in the doses indicated in the table:

Animal weightDrug dose (nominal pipette volume), mlDose of active ingredients, mg/kg animal weight
imidaclopridmoxidectin
up to 4 kg0,4102,5
from 4 to 10 kg1,010-252,5-6,25
from 10 to 25 kg2,510-252,5-6,25
from 25 to 40 kg4,010-162,5-4,0

When treating dogs weighing more than 40 kg, the drug is used at the rate of 0.1 ml per kilogram of animal weight, using combinations of pipettes of various packaging. To destroy fleas, lice and lice, animals are treated once, to prevent re-infestation - once every four weeks throughout the season when insects are most active. In a comprehensive program for the prevention and treatment of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, Advocate is used once a month. For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies), the drug is used cutaneously once. During the treatment process, it is recommended to clean the ear canal of exudate and strings, and in case of complications with otitis media, prescribe antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs.

If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 1 month.

For therapeutic purposes, for sarcoptic mange, the drug is used once a month for two months, for demodicosis - once a month for 2-4 months, in order to prevent possible invasion, treatments are carried out once a month. When treating complicated demodicosis, the frequency of use of Advocate is increased to 1 time per week. Treatment is recommended to be carried out comprehensively using etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic drugs. To deworm animals with nematodes, the drug is used for therapeutic purposes once, for prophylactic purposes - once a month. In order to prevent dirophnlariasis in regions unfavorable for the disease, the drug is used in the spring-summer-autumn period: before the start of the summer of mosquitoes (carriers of the D.Immitis pathogen) once. then once a month and the last time in the season no earlier than 1 month after the end of the summer of insects, Advocate does not destroy mature heartworms, but reduces the number of microfilariae circulating in the blood, and can also be used by infested animals. The drug remains effective even if the animal’s fur gets wet; however, after treatment, you should not wash the animal frequently with shampoo and/or immediately after applying the drug, bathe it in water bodies, as this may reduce its effectiveness.

In case of an overdose of the drug, some dogs may experience a depressed state, dilated pupils, increased salivation, and muscle tremors. In this case, the drug is washed off with water and detergent and general measures are used to remove it from the body. No specific effects of the drug upon first use or discontinuation have been identified. When treating animals, you should adhere to the intervals recommended by the instructions. If the next treatment is missed, the use of the drug should be resumed in the same dose according to the same scheme. As a rule, there are no side effects or complications when using the drug Advocate in accordance with these instructions. In rare cases, individual skin reactions (redness, itching) are possible, which resolve spontaneously and do not require the use of medications. If allergic reactions occur in an animal sensitive to the components of the drug, the drug should be thoroughly washed off with soap and water and the fur should be rinsed with plenty of running water, and, if necessary, antihistamines and symptomatic agents should be prescribed.

Advocate should not be used simultaneously with other antiparasitic drugs, due to the possible mutual increase in toxicity. Advocate is not intended for use in productive animals.

PERSONAL PREVENTION MEASURES When working with the drug Advocate, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicines. Smoking, drinking and eating are not allowed during work. When finished, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. The animal should not be petted or allowed near small children for 24 hours after treatment. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be washed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug Advocate. If allergic reactions occur or if the drug accidentally enters the human body, you should immediately contact a medical facility (bring with you the instructions for use of the drug or the label). Empty medicinal product packaging must not be used for household purposes; it must be disposed of with household waste.

If the pet's weight exceeds 40 kg, combine two pipettes whose volume best matches the animal's weight. For example, for a dog weighing 43 kg, a combination of 4 ml and 0.4 ml drugs is suitable. And for a dog weighing 46 kg, 4 ml and 1 ml are combined.

Applying drops is no different from using similar products. Follow the step-by-step instructions:

  • the animal is fixed - large dogs are held on the floor, medium and small dogs are lifted onto the table;
  • open the pipette - remove the protective cap and pierce the tip of the tube with its reverse side;
  • move the fur apart - the drug must get on the skin, otherwise it will flow down the fur coat and will not penetrate the body;
  • examine the skin - it must be clean, dry, without damage or redness, otherwise the drops cannot be used;
  • apply the medicine - drop it into 3-4 points that are inaccessible for licking (from the withers to the lower back), it is better to apply immediately behind the ears in front of the scruff of the neck.

Dosage and methods of administration

1 full syringe with a dispenser is designed for a dog weighing from 6 to 10 kg. It is not recommended to treat small dogs weighing up to 1 kg. For puppies and small breeds from 2 to 6 kg it is recommended to apply half.

For preventive purposes, the lawyer is applied to the dog's withers once every 4 weeks. When treating ear scabies, a few drops are poured into each ear once. A repeat course for severe infestation is carried out after 4 weeks.

If sarcoptic mange or demodectic mange is detected, it is necessary to apply the drug in the proper dosage once along the entire length of the dog’s spine. In advanced cases or in case of combined infection, it is necessary to treat the animal’s skin every week. And if the dog reacts poorly to the active substances, medications should be used for external and internal parasites only in the summer and demi-season periods.

Features of use and prevention

It is important to protect not only your pet, but also yourself, since “Advocate” drops, if the recommendations for use are not followed, can cause poisoning, including in humans.

  1. Do not apply the drug in places close to food. The best use is in an open space or room with good ventilation.
  2. Drinking and smoking are prohibited during the procedure.
  3. Handling a sick animal is carried out only with gloves, after which you should still wash your hands well with plenty of soap.
  4. If the active substance gets on the mucous membrane, you should immediately wash it off with plenty of water.
  5. If drops get inside, you need to consult a doctor for possible gastric lavage.

Careless use of the medication can lead to poisoning for both the pet and the owner.

Contraindications and side effects

Lawyer is a safe remedy. But in case of individual intolerance, it causes signs of allergy - skin hyperemia and itching. In this case, the drug is washed off with a large amount of water, and the animal is given an antihistamine - Suprastin, Tavegil, etc.

Spot-on is prohibited for the following animals:

  • kittens up to 7 weeks;
  • pregnant and lactating bitches;
  • sick and weakened pets;
  • dogs weighing less than 1 kg.

In case of urgent need, these animals are treated under the supervision of a veterinarian.

Contraindications for taking the drug

Failure to comply with the rules leads to poor health of the pet.

The medicinal solution is prohibited for use in the following cases:

  • Pregnancy;
  • Breastfeeding period;
  • Age less than 2 months;
  • The presence of infections in the body or the recovery period after an illness;
  • Weight less than 1 kg;
  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the drops;
  • The pet is not a dog.

Lawyer should not be given to puppies under two months of age.

Side effects

Advocate may cause the following side effects:

  • itching;
  • redness of the skin;
  • various allergic reactions.

Adverse reactions are usually rare. If redness and itching appear, you can leave everything as it is - in a couple of days the symptoms will go away on their own. But if the dog has an allergic reaction, the drug must be immediately washed off with soapy water, and the fur must be thoroughly rinsed with plenty of water. After which the animal must be given an antihistamine, according to the instructions attached to it.

You should not use Advocate with any other antiparasitic agents, as this may increase toxicity.

Overdose and side effects

If the drug is used correctly, overdose is excluded. If it occurs and if side effects occur, the animal may show signs of intoxication in the form of nausea, vomiting, skin irritation, redness and peeling.

If you suspect an overdose in your pet, it is advisable to show it to a specialist.

To eliminate unwanted reactions, you should wash off the drops from the animal’s fur and skin and carry out symptomatic treatment. If an allergic reaction occurs in the form of sneezing or active lacrimation, it is also necessary to remove the active substance from the pet’s body and give an anti-allergenic agent.

Repeated sneezing of a pet after drops most often indicates an allergic reaction.

Attention! Side effects were especially pronounced in animals that were treated in the presence of contraindications. They immediately started vomiting and had loose stools. This condition in pregnant and lactating animals always requires urgent contact with a veterinary clinic.

If the pet has contraindications, treatment is sometimes carried out by a veterinarian within the clinic

Advantages and disadvantages

Advocate drops on the withers are one of the best antiparasitic remedies. It has many advantages compared to other drugs:

  • complex action - one pipette kills ectoparasites and worms, which frees the animal owner from purchasing and feeding deworming tablets;
  • safety;
  • side effects are minor, occur rarely and go away on their own;
  • allowed for use by puppies from 7 weeks;
  • an abundance of dosages for dogs of different sizes;
  • collies and similar breeds can be used;
  • convenient use.

However, the drug also has disadvantages:

Owner reviews

YuliaYa1977: “For the first time we took these drops. The dog did not struggle during treatment and behaved calmly. Overall, she tolerated the drug well - no signs of intoxication. Only the wool smells a little, but after other products the smell was stronger.”

KseniaZH: “Six months ago my pug got sick. He was still a puppy then and didn’t weigh even 4 kg. At first a small pimple appeared on my forehead, which then became covered with skin. The vet said it was a subcutaneous mite and appointed a lawyer. He said to drip for 4 months in a row every 30 days. After the second use, the crusts disappeared, and after the 4th time everything disappeared as if by hand. The price is steep, but I ordered at my own risk on the Internet: it turned out to be almost 2 times cheaper and they sent the original medicine, although I was afraid of a fake.”

Doglover27: “The drops saved us! My dog was itching endlessly. I thought it was fleas, but nothing helped. Then I suffered from a food allergy, changed my diet, and also without results. We went to the vet and he said it was itch mites. These small parasites are not visible, so they could not determine what the dog was sick with. After two applications, the animal stopped itching and suffered from itching.”

Drops Advocate for cats - reviews

Reviews about flea drops Advocate are mostly positive, although there are relatively few of them, despite the fact that the drug is well distributed. Perhaps this is due to the relatively high price.

Customer Reviews

Helen writes: ()

After my complaints that it was absolutely impossible for my cat to pour anything into her mouth or force her to eat a crushed tablet (I had an unsuccessful experience), the veterinarian recommended “Advocate” drops for the withers. I bought “Advocate” at the veterinary pharmacy “Doctor Vet” (Minsk). One tube of drops for cats weighing up to 4 kg cost 13.50 rubles. or ok. 430 RUR rub. The tube is packed in a blister, on the back of which the composition is indicated and for which animals the drug is intended.

The drops are applied to the animal's skin; to do this, you first need to separate the fur. I didn’t have time to notice what color the drops were and what consistency, because the cat was spinning. All I can say is that they have a noticeable medicinal smell. In general, as the doctor assured me, these drops are well tolerated by animals. But after treatment, the animal cannot be washed for 4 days. After application, the application area becomes so greasy. The fat content gradually disappears after a few days.

I did not notice any peculiarities in the cat’s behavior within 3 days after using “Lawyer”. Nothing has changed either in the regimen or in the stool - I did not notice any inclusions in it that the doctor spoke about, in case there is a helminthic infestation. Unfortunately, the coughing did not stop either. We will continue to look for the reason.

Anastasia writes: ()

We bought a lawyer to get rid of ear mites, as they say that it is effective in this matter. We were satisfied. As for the price, it’s not that high, because it gets rid of helminths, fleas, and scabies mites. If you buy all these medications separately, it may be more expensive.

Also, if your cat has ear mites, do not torment her with drops in her ears, especially since they need to be dripped for several days and they create unpleasant sensations for your cat. Buy a lawyer and get rid of all this in one go.

Don't skimp on your pets and don't make them suffer. There is also a video on Youtube on how to use advocate drops. Happiness to you and your cats))

Cost and storage conditions

The medication must be stored in room conditions at a temperature not exceeding +30 degrees. It is important to avoid direct sunlight on the packaging. The shelf life of Advocate drops is 3 years. The average price of “Advocate” drops depends on the volume of the pipette and can range from 700 to 1500 rubles.

The drops require careful adherence to the instructions for use so that the cat or dog does not develop undesirable consequences for their health. Let us briefly highlight the most basic of them.

Precautionary rules

When using, you must carefully read the instructions and reviews of the “Lawyer”. This will avoid many mistakes and restore lost health to your pet and protect it in the future.

general description

Advocate is an easy-to-use drug.
The fact is that it is produced in the form of drops intended for external use. Drops of spot-on are applied to the withers. To get rid of parasitic insects or prevent their appearance, you do not need to try to feed the animal tablets or pour in a suspension, just drip the solution onto the skin. The procedure is painless and takes only a couple of minutes. The medicinal liquid is packaged in disposable polymer pipettes, from which it can be easily squeezed out. The manufacturer produces pipettes for cats in two versions:

  • 0.4 ml are intended for pets weighing up to 4 kg;
  • 0.8 ml are intended for animals weighing from 4 to 8 kg.

When purchasing, be sure to pay attention to the volume of pipettes and the information indicated on the packaging. If the medication is used for other purposes, it can cause toxic poisoning, so be careful.

The antiparasitic should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 30C, but freezing should not be allowed. For storage, you should choose a dark place away from direct sunlight. Do not forget that the drug contains toxic components. For this reason, it should be kept away from feed and food.

Analogues of the drug

There are few analogs of the Lawyer. It is rare that any veterinary drug manufacturer combines substances against ectoparasites and helminths in one product. Usually, drops for fleas and ticks are produced separately, and tablets for worms are produced separately.

Therefore, funds like the Lawyer can be counted on one hand.

Analogues are better:

MedicineWhat's better?Price per pipette
StrongholdSafer than the Lawyer, the dog can be petted and bathed on the first day after treatment, there is a form for dogs weighing from 2.5 kg.700-1,300 rub.

Inspector Total СWider spectrum of action - additionally has a detrimental effect on ixodid ticks.300-650 rub.

Analogues are worse:

Palladium Pet Line No. 2Contains fipronil, which often causes allergies280-350 rub.
FrontlineIt does not help against worms, although it gets rid of more ectoparasites and repels blood-sucking insects.450-770 rub.

What to pay attention to

Advocate drops should not be combined with medications containing macrocyclic lactones. Do not apply multiple antiparasitic agents at the same time. Make sure that the dog does not lick the drug or chew the pipette. If this happens, take her to the veterinary clinic immediately.

Advocate is a moderately dangerous drug. Therefore, a person must take precautions when working with it. Do not eat, drink or smoke while opening the pipette. After the procedure, wash your hands with soap. Dispose of any remaining packaging immediately.

Answers to frequently asked questions

When can you bathe your dog?

It is advisable not to wash your dog with shampoo for 4 days before and after treatment. Detergents break down the lipid layer, which reduces the effectiveness of the flea and tick product. Although bathing does not affect the anthelmintic effect of the drug.

If the dog got caught in the rain, ran through puddles, or jumped into a pond for a couple of minutes, it’s okay. The effect of the drops will continue.

The dog weighs less than the minimum dosage - up to 4 kg. How to proceed?

For animals weighing over 1 kg, the entire 0.4 ml pipette can be used under the supervision of a veterinarian. As a rule, the medicine does not cause side effects. If the dog weighs less, a lawyer cannot be used.

I have two dogs weighing about 20 kg. Is it possible for them to take one pipette for giant breeds (weighing up to 40 kg) and divide it equally?

You cannot divide the pipette - this makes it impossible to calculate the correct dosage. For each dog, a release form is purchased that corresponds to its weight.

Does Lawyer help against ixodid ticks?

The drug is not effective against ixodid ticks. To destroy this type of parasite or prevent infection by it, Advantix is first used. And after 2-7 days they use Advocate.

Can it be used in conjunction with other antiparasitic agents?

Drops cannot be used along with similar drugs. The exception is Advantix and the Foresto collar. They contain different active ingredients and together protect against all types of parasites.

Reviews from dog breeders

Dog owners note the high effectiveness of the drug Advocate. Marina, owner of a Labrador, Moscow. I was always skeptical about drops on the withers and preferred to use anti-flea shampoos. But when I got a large dog, I realized that washing with shampoo was not the answer. As a result, I bought these drops before going to the country. We were pleased with the result; we didn’t bring any fleas! True, I applied the drug generously, the dog is still large. I will continue to use them, the drops really work.

Anna, St. Petersburg. I tried different drugs for parasites, but most of the tablets simply made the dog sick. The effect is zero. On the advice of the veterinarian, I bought these drops. It’s convenient that you can buy just one pipette at the pharmacy, everything is calculated by weight. The dog (I have a teenage Cane Corso) tolerated the procedure calmly, there were no problems with his fur, and no nausea either. This is the second time I have purchased this product and I am satisfied.

Andrey, Tver. My first dog already suffered from demodicosis, so I monitored the health of the second one especially closely. I chose Lawyer after consulting with a veterinarian. A little expensive, of course, but the result is good. It's nice to know your pet is safe. Now both of my pit bulls are treated 4 times a year. There are no side effects, I liked that the drops are suitable even for puppies, which means they are safe.

Advocate belongs to the group of moderately toxic medications (hazard class 3). If the recommended dosage specified in the annotation is followed, it does not provoke side effects in dogs. Does not have a carcinogenic, teratogenic, local irritating or sensitizing effect. The active components of the drops do not penetrate the blood-brain barrier of warm-blooded animals.

Important! Advocate can be used for dogs of all breeds, different age groups, including ivermectin-sensitive breeds (collie, sheltie).

As indicated in the instructions, the veterinary drug must be stored at a temperature of 0 to 25 degrees, in dry, dark places in the original packaging. From the date of release, the shelf life is three years.

Composition and toxicity

Advocate drops are available in the form of a colorless solution for external use; oral administration is strictly prohibited and can lead to the death of a pet. More often recommended for treating dogs due to better tolerance. Available in several forms depending on the weight of the animal.

Table 1. Types of drops according to weight

Pet weightVarietyPipette volume in ml
No more than 4 kgCats and small dog breeds0,4
4-10 kgMedium breeds1
11-25 kgLarge breeds2,5
11-25 kgVery large breeds4

Attention! To eliminate diseases and prevent disorders in dogs weighing more than 40 kg, it is necessary to use a combination of pipettes of various sizes to achieve the optimal dosage of the active substance.

For large breeds remains the same as for small breeds

The drug consists of two active substances, each of which has its own characteristics of action:

  • imidacloprid, produced on the basis of nicotine, it is this substance that provokes the death of parasites after their serious poisoning;
  • moxidectin, a semi-synthetic component that has a paralyzing effect on endoparasites. Allows you to influence not only adult individuals, but also their immature offspring.

While killing parasites, nicotine remains dangerous for the pet if the drops are used ineptly.

Experts classify drops as a third group of toxic substances, considered moderately dangerous. If the dosage of the active substance is observed, they are absolutely safe and do not cause intoxication.

Attention! When using drops, it is necessary to exclude individual intolerance to the active ingredient or excipients. If it is present, even strict adherence to the instructions can be dangerous and lead to undesirable consequences for the health of the animal.
