“Fitmin” food line

The company's product range includes balanced dry food, treats, canned food and nutritional supplements. A large number of items allows the buyer to choose food that meets the individual characteristics of their pet.

The Fitmin line for dogs of different ages provides a balanced diet, developed taking into account the characteristics of animals at different stages of their life. All meals are divided into three types based on breed size and nutritional needs.

Mini, Medium and Maxi foods cover the entire life cycle of a pet - from a newborn puppy to an elderly animal. The products differ in the content of different ingredients, which allows the owner to take into account the level of need for nutrients and energy in accordance with the dog’s activity and age category.

Due to the fact that the formulation of all foods is similar, a smooth transition from one food to another is ensured, based on the current condition of the dog.

In those moments when a balanced food cannot satisfy some of the needs of a particular pet, “Fitmin” vitamin supplements are introduced into the menu. They, of course, do not replace full-fledged treatment, but they can boost immunity and act as a prophylactic against any disease, as well as mitigate its consequences.

Manufacturer and official website

The manufacturer and official website (https://www.fitmin.com/) succinctly and effectively present Fitmin products. The facilities of the Dibaq as enterprise are used for the production of feed for horses, cats and dogs. Fitmin is the flagship line, which is produced in the Czech Republic (Helvíkovice).

Dibaq as is a small company that maintains the image of a family business. However, the factories are equipped with modern equipment and laboratories, which makes it possible to create intense competition in the market of ready-made food for animals.

According to the manufacturer, Fitmin is the only Czech food based on natural, fresh meat with a moisture content of no higher than 70%.

This is interesting! In the production of Fitmin, technologies that are used in the human food industry are used. Special technologies make it possible to preserve the aroma of meat, which allows the food to be used for picky dogs.

Fitmin products meet European standards. In 2012, the feed was certified by IFS (International Food Standard). In addition, the feed is produced under the monitoring of HACCP - the body that controls food quality in the Czech Republic and the EU.

What dog breeders say

Reviews from dog owners about this brand of food are mostly positive. It is noted that such nutrition has many advantages compared to other manufacturers; in addition, all the advantages declared by the company are true. In negative reviews, owners indicate inaccessibility. Food is very difficult to find on store shelves.

Reviews from dog breeders about Fitmin food

Julia. I spent a long time looking for suitable food for my dog and decided to try the Czech food Fitmin. I was quite satisfied with the composition, and I can feel the fat content of the food and its pungent smell, so it is better to store it in a tightly closed container.

Dogs enjoy eating Fitmin dry food.

The dog has eaten well on this food, is in excellent physical shape, the coat has not deteriorated at all, and has a beautiful shine. The dog appears to be completely healthy. We switched to food gradually over ten days, so no negative reactions occurred. The only disadvantage I encountered is that it is very difficult to find food in our city; it is sold in single stores. For this reason, I will look for a similar food, but more common.

Denis. I buy Fitmin Medium Maintenance food for my Staffordshire Terrier and am very pleased. The food contains a lot of fresh meat - more than 50%, and there is no wheat on which my dog gets sick. The food is digested remarkably well, the yield is good, the wool quality is excellent, and activity is normal. You won't find a better one for this price. I recommend.

Owner reviews

Ksenia, owner of a 6-year-old cat:

“Not all foods are suitable for my handsome cat. In most cases, he simply doesn’t get enough of the daily dose, and you also don’t want to overfeed him to avoid obesity. At one time I bought Happy Cat Light, but when I moved I had to find new food. On the advice of a saleswoman in a pet store located next to my house, I turned my attention to Fitmin cat Castrate. The cat liked the taste of the round granules; he eats everything with great pleasure, but most importantly, he gets enough of it. And it’s cheaper than Royal and similar products.”

Valentina, Persian cat:

“When Snowflake appeared in our house, we first fed her like the previous owners. We prepared our own porridge and meat, and included dairy products in our diet. But after mating with the cat, they decided to switch to dry food and canned food so that the body would receive a sufficient amount of vitamins. I liked Fitmin for the price. The cat liked it too. All kittens were born healthy. None of the new owners complained.”

Advantages and disadvantages

Fitmin cat food is a super-premium product and has certain advantages:

  • contains fresh meat, natural and environmentally friendly products;
  • has a balanced composition, enriched with vitamins and mineral components;
  • contains a large amount of protein;
  • produced in packages of different volumes - from 400g to 10kg;
  • does not contain soy protein, GMOs, chemicals, flavors, dyes and other harmful substances;
  • hypoallergenic.

The product has virtually no disadvantages. The disadvantages of the product can be considered the low popularity of the product, the lack of indication of which preservative is used in the diet, as well as the high cost of the food, which is significantly more expensive than other super-premium food.

Forum for breeders and lovers of Maine Coon cats

which has a lot of information about food.
Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken Breast Grain Free There are several product lines in the Fitmin brand feed range. Fitmin Purity food stands out in particular. Since the name of the line contains the word “purity”, I would like to hope that the composition of the diets under this name will be selective, of high quality and suitable for carnivores. How true is this characterization? In our review, we will analyze all the pros and cons of “Fitmin Purity” using the example of dry food called Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken-Breast for cats after castration and sterilization. Where's the breast? The packaging of this product is made in a natural style, with a predominance of natural shades. On the front side of the pack there is a bright photo of fresh chicken fillet and green peas, which looks quite attractive. It is interesting that in the name of the food the concept of chicken breast is used - “chicken breast”, and not just chicken (“chicken”), as happens much more often. Naturally, we carefully studied the list of ingredients of this food, but, unfortunately, the analysis of Fitmin Purity Castrate did not reveal any chicken breasts. We assume that this is an advertising gimmick to attract the attention of buyers. Combination - so that it immediately catches your eye Place No. 1 in the composition is occupied by a complex where, under the name “meat”, the manufacturer combined 27.5% of “fresh chicken meat”, 30.5% of “dried chicken meat”, 6% of “dried turkey meat” and 4% pork liver. Not a bad set, but we don’t approve of the way the “material” is presented. It seems that such a combination was made to draw consumer attention to the considerable amount of animal components in the feed. Because of this, the accepted order of indicating the components is violated - from most to least, and it is more difficult to make a transparent description of Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken-Breast Grain Free (since you cannot calculate the dosage of plant components). By the way, it is no coincidence that we put the Russian names of the three components in quotation marks - after all, in English they are called “fresh chicken”, “dried chicken” and “dried turkey”, so the word “meat” in their names is also an artistic exaggeration. There is one more animal additive in the list of ingredients - chicken eggs, which were not included in complex ingredient No. 1, probably due to their small share in the product. 5 points to the “Fitmin Purity” rating for cats On the packaging of this diet we see a large inscription that reads “80% of proteins of animal origin.” It is quite possible that this is the case. In total, the share of meat components here is 68%, so the Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken-Breast Grain Free rating deservedly increases by 5 bonus points (for the high content of high-quality sources of animal protein). The remaining components of the “first five” Now we will tell in detail about the remaining components of the first five. Place No. 2 is occupied by farm potatoes - a source of carbohydrates, in particular starch, as well as a certain proportion of vegetable protein. Perhaps the word “farm-grown” is intended to emphasize its higher quality compared to ordinary mass-produced potatoes. In 3rd place here are green peas - a legume vegetable-protein ingredient. Potatoes and legumes most often replace grains in grain-free diets. 4th place belongs to beet pulp. We assume that there is not much of it in the food: it simply rose in the list due to the combination of four animal components into a single whole. This fiber is beneficial for digestion and complements the fiber found in peas. There are other sources of fiber here, however, there is very little of each of them in the feed - alfalfa, apples and many different small herbal supplements. Rounding out the top five is chicken fat, which obviously also moved up the list due to the unconventional indication of the first ingredient. The food also contains flaxseed and cold-pressed oil from Norwegian salmon. In general, the sources of fat here are very good. Prebiotics and herbs There are two types of yeast in the composition - one is listed as brewer's yeast (this is rather a source of MOS and B vitamins), and the second is listed as inactivated saccharomycetes. They are, first of all, a source of natural selenium. Chicory root added to the feed is also a source of prebiotics. Also on the list we found an additive traditional for feed, which is supposed to promote weight loss and maintain good shape. This is L-carnitine. If we remember that the food is intended for castrated and sterilized animals, then adding it to the product makes sense. As for other beneficial supplements, we see many herbal ingredients on the list. The manufacturer placed the inscription “Herbal vitality complex” on the front side of the package, which can be translated as “Complex of herbs for vitality.” The herbal mixture contains five components: nettle leaves, dandelion leaves 0.25%, chamomile flowers, lemon balm leaves and cordate linden flowers. Each of them may contain useful substances, but, in our opinion, the total proportion of any herbs, flowers or similar additives in ready-made food for dogs and cats is extremely small. These are, rather, additions that are pleasing to the eyes of buyers, rather than vital and valuable ingredients. Minerals - plus, preservatives - minus The manufacturer indicates in great detail the content and sources of various vitamin and mineral supplements in the diet - this is good, as it gives the most complete picture of the composition of the feed. It’s also nice that the sources of many minerals are their most digestible compounds - chelates. However, we found an inaccuracy in the list of additives: the source of iodine was translated into Russian incorrectly. In fact, judging by the English name, iodine is supplemented not with “potassium iodide”, but with calcium iodide (calcium iodide anhydrous). We have corrected this information in the list of ingredients. What is unusual is that the composition mentions preservatives in two different places. We found here the general terms “preservatives” and “antioxidants”, as well as “a complex of natural antioxidants for cell renewal”. It’s difficult to say whether this is a repeat or not, but in any case, the exact substances with which the food is preserved are not indicated, which is not very good. Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken-Breast Grain Free: Conclusions Several conclusions about this food. When studying the packaging, several marketing moves were identified - the combination of all sources of animal protein into a single component at the beginning of the list, and “improved” translations of the names of ingredients using the word “meat”, and an indication of chicken breasts in the name of the food. All this seems unnecessary, since the composition of the “Fitmin Purity Castrate” food is already very good: it contains 68% of high-quality sources of animal protein, no grain, and practically no ingredients named in general terms. Thanks to this, the Fitmin Purity Castrate Chicken-Breast Grain Free rating is above average, and we think this is quite fair.
