In February, our daughters Shaini and Daina showed for the first time in the Junior class. Shiny received an excellent description, won her first JCAC and received the title of best female in the breed. Daina made her debut at the show and also received an excellent description, took her first JCAC, beat her competitor from the open class and became Best of Breed and Best of Breed. In the best of 11 shepherd dogs, Daina climbed to the podium BIG-2, and in the best of juniors from the 50 best juniors of the exhibition she became JBIS-3.
For a long time there was no news about our achievements. This does not mean that nothing is happening here. Our babies Dana and Shiny successfully started their show careers in the baby and puppy classes, received their first judges' descriptions, scores - great prospects and gained excellent experience. The girls are actively involved in obedience training and handling.

Selection and price of puppies
In order not to become a victim of deception and not to “run into” an unscrupulous breeder, it is advisable to purchase a BShO puppy from well-established nurseries, where you can see the living conditions of the animals, evaluate the entire litter and review the documents. A purebred puppy must have a metric with vaccination marks, as well as a kennel mark on the ear or hip.
Before buying, you should observe the puppy, its character, and also see how the parent dogs behave
It is highly not recommended to buy a pet from someone else or from a poultry market, because in this case the risk of acquiring a sick animal with various pathologies is extremely high.
Criteria for choosing a healthy BShO puppy:
- wedge-shaped head;
- scissor bite (underbite up to 2 mm is allowed);
- almond-shaped eyes of a dark brown color;
- pigmentation of the eyelids, lips and nose - black;
- semi-erect ears up to 3–6 months;
- rectangular body shell;
- straight (not sagging) back and strong (not short) neck;
- abdomen - without rachitic bloating and residual umbilical cord;
- powerful paws without dewclaws on the hind limbs;
- tail without bumps or creases;
- absence of “bald spots” and redness of the skin;
- shiny silky fur;

Experts do not recommend taking puppies from the nursery before 45–65 days of age, since it is at this age that dogs begin to develop their character and psyche.

Education and training
The educational process and training of the Swiss is very easy. They learn commands very quickly and understand their owner perfectly. The main thing for productive learning is consistency and consistency.
They do not accept brutal methods of education and do not accept assault, raised voices and aggression from both the owner and the professional instructor. Mating
The female Swiss Shepherd becomes sexually mature at the age of one year, but the body is not yet ready for mating, pregnancy and childbirth, therefore it is recommended to breed during the third heat. Usually the male and female are at least 2 years old at the time of their first mating. Mating should be carried out on the 12-14th day of estrus, it is during this period that the female is ready for fertilization. The process must necessarily take place on the territory of the male, but it takes time for the female to get used to it. The male was taken from an Austrian kennel, and the female from our breeders. Oddly enough, there is a very big difference in behavior. Ours turned out to be a little cowardly and unbalanced. This deficiency could not be completely eliminated even during courses. But in general, ideal dogs for a family. Unlike the Germans, they have a softer and more flexible character. But when it comes to training, these two breeds are equally great.
