The breed of dog that starred in the series “Five Minutes of Silence”

"Mask"

Milo's breed is Jack Russell Terrier. By the way, after filming the film, Jim Carrey liked his partner on the set so much that he got himself one. The performer of the main dog role was called not Milo, but Max, and his son Enzo acted as an understudy in difficult scenes. A funny coincidence is that the breed is called Jack Russell, and the director of the film was named Chuck Russell.

What was the name of the dog from the TV series Five Minutes of Silence?

The dog, who played a very important role in the series “5 Minutes of Silence,” has a very funny name - Bubble .

In case you're wondering, that's his role, not his real name. The real name of the dog is Indy.

He has already played in a very large number of films and TV series.

It is worth noting that it is in his family’s blood, because his sister is also an actress.

"Beethoven"

Breed: St. Bernard. Dogs of this breed are named after the monastery of St. Bernard, where the pets lived. The hardy giants easily searched for and pulled tired travelers out of the snowdrifts. The role of Beethoven was played by a four-legged actor named Chris. Another 12 pets auditioned for the role, but the group chose Chris because of his restless character.

Description of the Nova Scotia Retriever breed

The Nova Scotia Retriever (aka Toller) is a medium-sized dog, its height at the withers is from 45 to 51 kg, and its weight is no more than 23 kg. Retrievers are powerfully built and have muscular chests. The triangular, drooping ears are set high.

The Nova Scotia Retriever or Toller is a medium-sized dog.

The Toller's coat is waterproof (thanks to this the dog is not afraid of even icy water), and wavy. Its color ranges from orange-red to reddish, which is why the toller is sometimes called a “fire” dog. The dog's tail, covered with rather long hair, is in continuous movement.

History of the breed

Toller breeding began two hundred years ago, and the breed was registered in 1945 in Nova Scotia (Canada). Such dog breeds as collie, Irish setter, golden retriever, and English spaniel took part in the selection. As a result, a dog appeared that was simply irreplaceable for hunting waterfowl.

Character of the breed

Dogs of this breed are hardy, energetic and active. They love to play and have a pronounced need for communication. Tollers are incredibly gambling and are passionate hunters. Not being able to hunt, they become lethargic and melancholy. This should be taken into account when choosing a pet breed.

It should also be noted that tollers are highly trainable. If you devote enough time and attention to raising your puppy in a timely and systematic manner (and not from time to time), then your pet will become a model of canine obedience by the time it is one year old.

Dogs of the Nova Scotia Retriever breed are hardy, energetic and active.

During training, you should offer the dog a wide variety of exercises, teach it to carry out a large number of commands, because the Nova Scotia Retriever does not accept monotony, monotony plunges it into depression.

Important. You should not have a Nova Scotia retriever at home if the family does not have fans of such a pastime as hunting.

The kindness and affection of these dogs can hardly leave anyone indifferent. Tollers surprise with their warm affection for their family, get along wonderfully with children, and do not show outbursts of aggression towards the owner and household members.

Purpose of the breed

No one can compare with dogs of this breed in the ability to lure waterfowl and bring game (both dead and wounded). In this case, the water temperature does not matter at all for the toller. He has an excellent sense of smell, which, combined with amazing stamina, makes him the best companion for a hunter.

What else can you say about the Nova Scotia Retriever other than that he is a loyal friend and a hunting fanatic? Judging by the acting work of the performer of the role of Bubble in the TV series “Five Minutes of Silence”, there are also talented artists among the dogs of this breed.

"What a cutie!" - we think about a cute dog. And dog actors evoke not only tenderness, but also respect. By the way, as it turned out, the most talented tailed actors live in St. Petersburg. At least, that's what the directors say and assure that the scene with the dogs can be filmed in one take - not every human actor is capable of this.

"White Bim Black Ear"

Breed: English Setter. Probably one of the most poignant and sad films about dogs. The pet named Styopa has a no less tragic story: the owner himself rented the animal to the film studio. The filming continued for 1.5 years, but Stepa’s owner never came to visit him. After filming, the setter was still taken away, but was soon given to new owners. After 2 months, the dog died of heart disease.

What breed of dog was featured in the TV series “Five Minutes of Silence”

An action-packed film about the difficult everyday life of Russian rescuers aroused the sympathy of the domestic audience not only due to its exciting plot and excellent selection of talented actors. The script very successfully introduces a vivid image of a dog - a faithful friend of the rescuers, their invaluable and irreplaceable assistant. It is difficult to say what the dog’s peculiar nickname is connected with. Perhaps in his youth the puppy was quite well-fed.

Those who have already had the pleasure of watching the film will not forget the touching scenes in which Bubble helps pull a wounded person out of the rubble or saves a trainee rescuer drowning in a stormy river. In those moments when emergency workers have a temporary respite from emergency situations, the dog remains a true friend for them, with whom they can have a heart-to-heart talk, play and even play cards.

In a word, from series to series, Bubble, in addition to the qualities necessary for a rescue dog, demonstrates his sharp mind, optimism, friendliness and emotional sensitivity. It is not surprising that many television viewers became interested in the name of the dog breed from the film “Five Minutes of Silence.” The question of which dog starred in the series has been asked a huge number of times on the Internet. Let's try to figure out who the Nova Scotia retriever is.

“K-9. Dog work"

Breed: German Shepherd. The adventures of the policeman and his faithful partner lasted 11 seasons on air. The first actor was a service dog named Coton, he had an excellent nose for drugs. However, after the film was released, he was sent on a mission during which the dog was shot. Actor James Belushi's shepherd dogs, King and Mack, were taken as replacements.

Glasha

This dog plays Mumu in the MDT play. People cry: the eyes are too expressive, and all the emotions are reflected on the face.

At the dog casting, Glasha beat all the competitors who were trying to run away from the stage, learned the role in five or six rehearsals and now clearly knows when to walk, sit, lie down, jump and even swing on a swing. Actor Oleg Ryazantsev, who plays the leading role of Gerasim, walked with Glasha many times so that the dog would get used to him and also recognize him as the owner.

The contact between the two actors, a man and a dog, was simply telepathic: when Gerasim suffers on stage, Glasha-Mumu suffers behind the scenes and, when she is released according to the plot, she licks his entire face with joy.

Glasha is generally very happy when it’s her turn to go on stage; she doesn’t pay attention to loud sounds, bright lights and loud applause. This is what an actress means! And three years ago Glafira was without a home in a small town; her owner abandoned her. But one day they were filming a movie there, and Glasha came to the set herself. The director filmed the artistic dog in the episode. And when they returned to St. Petersburg, they took Glasha with them. Now she lives in an acting family.

"Adventures of Electronics"

Breed: Eldel Terrier. By the way, in E. Veltistov’s book, Ressi was of a different breed - a black terrier. The film starred a dog named Chingiz. Airedale Terriers are the largest of the terrier family, they grow up to 62 centimeters at the withers, they are smart and friendly. Few people noticed that the dog looked different in the footage, because no one exempted it from filming during the molting period or after grooming.

"Garfield"

The breed is a cross between a terrier and a dachshund. Oddy, the eternal source of suffering for the fat cat Garfield, is supposed to be a mongrel according to the script. So the pet named Tyler fits the role perfectly. To make the pet cuter, the fur on its body was cut and lightened, while its face and paws were left dark. In some scenes, the dog was replaced by Chloe's sister.

TV series "Plot"

Breed: Bloodhound. For a long time, the creators of the series could not decide on a companion for the main character: it could well have been a Dogue de Bordeaux, but suddenly the dog that was being trained for this role fell ill. The film crew claims that the most difficult thing was to prepare the bloodhound for work on camera: the make-up artists carefully wiped the saliva from the pet’s face before almost every take.

"Taming of the Shrew"

Breed: bobtail. Remember the “woman lover’s” dog who masterfully beat his unsociable owner at chess? Adriano Celentano starred in the film with his own pet. By the way, bobtail translated from English means “stubby tail.” There is a legend that this breed was bred specifically to avoid paying taxes that were assessed according to the system: the longer the dog’s tail, the more you will have to pay for it.

Lorevi Diamond Indiana, or Indy, is our true cinema star, who has starred in more than forty films. Indy plays the role of a wonderful rescue dog in the film Five Minutes of Silence.

Indy came to the Animal Art agency from Kazan at the age of a month and a week. This Kazan guy came to us with his sister and since then he has been working in cinema.

On set, Indy becomes a full-fledged member of the film crew, and the directors are always very pleased with the way Indy works. In some cases, he gives respected artists a head start because he often does everything the first time and is very cool!

Indy is a very friendly, active and smart dog. He is easy to train, playful and very creative.

"Dog Barbos and an unusual cross"

The breed is mongrel. Despite the fact that the film is a short film and lasts just over 13 minutes, it was memorable for many. And not least thanks to the funny Barbos, whose real nickname is Brech. It’s interesting that the dog on the set for some reason didn’t like Evgeniy Morgunov and chased him for real, even biting him on the leg once.

Dogs make excellent and memorable actors! But that’s not why we love them!

reviews

Being an active employee of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, I gave this series a one. It is impossible to popularize and talk about the life, everyday life, and work of a rescuer of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in such a clumsy manner. If you decide to do it, take it seriously. But when did NTV show a serious series?

What do the creators of the series offer us? A young and handsome officer-graduate of a departmental university with an uncle-general at the top, who mistakenly ends up on an internship not in the central office, but in the forests of Karelia, where the personnel of the search and rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, consisting of three rescuers and a duty officer (forester, supply manager), work , dog handler?). And it seems to be perceived with interest by ear, although the fact that a young and hot careerist will be raised and molded into a man by simple heroes is understandable, the plot is not new.

But how is it all done...

Listen, I'm at a loss, I don't know where to start. Is it because the Academy of Civil Defense (order with distribution) does not graduate internal service officers, who is the main character, or because there are NO PEOPLE IN EMERGENCIES AT ALL in the search and rescue teams of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations? Yes, dear reader, the search and rescue service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is completely civilian. We have people with stars on their shoulder straps only in the fire service (internal service, like Greek and company) and military personnel in rescue centers. All.

A guy with a lieutenant's shoulder straps going on an internship? What? Protection of the diploma? Guys, in general, first practice, then certification, and only then graduation, issuance of officer shoulder straps, so and so. Rave? Rave. It was clearly possible to find a more plausible reason for the hero’s departure to Karelia and back. Make him a cadet or something... By the way, why doesn’t the hero have a field uniform (“blue”, as they call it in the Ministry of Emergency Situations)?

Next is the squad itself. On the sign there is the search and rescue service of Karelia, inside there are rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. How, what, where? An ordinary spectator is watching you, he doesn’t understand the difference, why are you confusing him even more?

Let's go to the heroes.

Major Gireev (Lifanov). Apparently - the shift supervisor, since there is also a second one. It’s strange that we were never shown, in fact, the head of the detachment or the service itself. An alpukha specialist, an excellent mountain worker, judging by his past, a combat veteran. Usually such people come to the Ministry of Emergency Situations as rescuers. We have a lot of such Gireevs, but Lifanov’s hero has a lot of complexes, and Lifanov is clearly trying to make Gireev a kind of Kevin Costner’s Ben Randell from “The Rescuer.” But where is it? Lifanov has one emotion on his face for the entire series. Most of the time he is thoughtful and looks into the distance.
