Animal sources of protein

No fresh meat or fish ingredients were used to produce this diet.
The first item listed is “Poultry Meat Flour”. It would seem that this is a good indicator, if you close your eyes to the fact that there are no other meat products in the top five ingredients. Bosch Adult Lamb & Rice contains 17% flour from unknown poultry meat, the second component is rice - 16%, the rest of the top five ingredients are cereals. Based on this, we cannot assume that there is a lot of meat in this food.

There are three sources of animal protein in the food: the mentioned poultry meal, lamb meal / Lamb Meal (4%) (No. 7 in the composition) and fish meal. The animal protein content is generally low.

The diet also contains “hydrolyzed protein,” a protein component of unknown origin. It can be either a plant or animal protein hydrolyzate, or a mixture of both. This ingredient does not inspire confidence.

How to feed your pet

If for some reason the owner decides to switch his pet to a new Bosch brand food, then he should listen to some rules:

Feed replacement is carried out gradually.
Everything starts small. On the first day, 1/7 of the new food is added to the usual food. Accordingly, this part of the old feed is removed and replaced.
On the second day, 2/7 are replaced.
And they do this gradually, over the course of a week. Until the food is completely replaced.
If your pet's ears are red and the dog actively and regularly scratches them, then the food is not suitable. We'll have to look for an alternative.
Your pet should always have access to drinking water.
Fodder is the main food. It should not be used as a reward during training.
Puppies from 2 to 3 months are fed 6 times a day. The required dosage is indicated on the food bag. It is important to note that there it is daily. The owner should divide the daily intake into 6 parts.
From 3 to 4 months, puppies eat 5 meals a day.
From 4 to 6 months, pets are fed 4 times a day.
From 6 to 9 months - 3 times a day.
From the age of 9 months, the pet is transferred to 2 meals a day.

Plant based protein sources

The Bosch Adult Lamb & Rice diet contains as many as 5 different grains: rice (16%), barley, millet, corn and yellow millet. All of them, except yellow millet, are listed in the top five ingredients and in total, presumably, occupy a larger percentage of the feed volume than the animal source of protein (No. 1).

In addition, we found legumes in the composition, namely peas - another source of vegetable protein. The content of the latter in the analyzed product is generally very high.

Let us note that grains and their derivatives are not included in the natural diet of dogs and in large quantities, and even more so, as the basis of finished food, are far from welcome.

The leader among dry food is the German dog food Bosch

It is clear that everyone wants to see their pet healthy and strong even in old age. And this desire can be fulfilled if the dog is fed correctly. The main indicator that a dog receives such feeding is well-developed muscles, normal fatness and activity. Many people prefer natural feeding, which requires some time to prepare. Also, when using it, the animal must be given supplements in the form of: vitamins, microelements, minerals, etc.

Considering how busy a modern person is, it is clear that it is simply impossible to devote so much time to feeding a pet. Therefore, dry dog food is an excellent solution. When choosing food, its quality and reliability of the supplier are important. And here, dog owners and professional breeders unanimously give preference to the German company Bosch, whose products occupy a leading position in the European market. We managed to appreciate it in Russia too.

Healthy Ingredients

Yeast (dehydrated, 0.1% mannan-oligosaccharides, 0.06% β-glucans) – Probably Saccharomyces yeast, a dried source of B vitamins and beneficial prebiotics. It’s good that the manufacturer partially indicates the percentage of beneficial components of this yeast. Beta-glucans strengthen the immune system, and mannan-oligosaccharides prevent harmful bacteria from multiplying in the intestines.

Green-lipped mollusk extract (0.1%) is beneficial for the articular and ligamentous apparatus of large breed dogs. This is a source of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) - the building materials of cartilage tissue. However, chondroitin and glucosamine are usually used as substances that support joint health, which we did not find in the diet. Perhaps the manufacturer believes that only green-lipped mollusk extract in such a small quantity is sufficient.

This food also contains a variety of vitamin and mineral supplements, which are necessary partly due to the lack of minerals and vitamins in the raw materials, partly due to the peculiarities of the technological process for the production of dry food (this is the industry norm, and therefore is not a direct indicator of high or low quality of diet).

Composition analysis

Bosch Tiernahrung products are manufactured in Germany, which can tell the buyer that all technical requirements are met and the quality of the feed is sufficiently high. The class of this product itself implies the absence of dyes and flavor enhancers in its composition, which is also very important. However, a much more important indicator of feed quality is the meat content. This is not surprising: a dog, like any carnivore, needs to consume a sufficient amount of protein to maintain normal functioning of the body.

From the Bosch composition we see that the percentage of natural meat content fluctuates around 20%. This is not a very high level of substance content in food of this class. For comparison, the same Hills contains up to 35% meat. Many negative reviews of the product are based precisely on this problem. The percentage of protein is also low - about 24%, and the share of proteins is 26%.

Among the useful additives, flaxseed can be noted, which contains acids that are beneficial for wool. In addition, the food contains a good composition of vitamins necessary to maintain the health of both puppies and adult dogs.

Minuses

As for the disadvantages of the Bosch Lamb with Rice diet for adult dogs of all breeds, it is, of course, five types of grains in the composition, of which four are in the first five ingredients. This means that there is a lot of vegetable protein and carbohydrates in the composition.

Many ingredients are listed in general terms and their exact sources cannot be determined (poultry meal, animal fat, poultry fat, hydrolyzed protein, fish meal). It does not contain glucosamine or chondroitin, and since the diet is designed for all breeds of dogs, including large ones, we consider this rather a minus.

The food is suitable for most dogs. They have no problems with stool. Weight is stable, appetite is excellent. Allergies, if they occur, occur in one out of fifty dogs. This is due to individual intolerance to certain components.
The quality of the food is good, but it is not the best among super-premium foods. However, scrupulous Germans strictly monitor production technologies. The ingredients are of high quality, the manufacturer has certificates confirming that the products from which the food is made are suitable for human consumption. Pets who eat the Bosch brand do not experience health problems. Except in very, very rare cases.
