We began working with the Central Asian Shepherd breed in 1999 and all our efforts are aimed at preserving the character of the breed, in the wonderful quality in which it is represented in the ancient region of Central Asia-Turkmenistan, as well as consolidating the excellent functional exterior. In 2001, we registered the breeding nursery “Dom Semargla” in the RKF-FCI. The name of the kennel is associated with the Slavic deity Semargl, the winged dog, whose functions, based on available information - protection of people and mediation between people and gods, are very similar to the purpose of the breed both in ancient times and in our days. Over the past years, we have received a high level of dogs. In our kennel live and were born: Champions and Grand Champions of Russia, Champions and Winners of the National Breed Club, Interchampions, Multi-Champions, Winners of the “Pride of Russia” and “Best in Show” competitions, as well as winners and prize-winners of competitions in OKD, ZKS, skijoring and test trials. Our kennel has repeatedly won the “Best Kennel” competition at single-breed exhibitions. A male born and living in our kennel twice became the Best Sire at the National Breed Championships in 2009 and 2010.

Within the Central Asian Shepherd breed there are many types of dogs, this is due to the fact that the breed’s origin range is very large. In our kennel, we settled on breeding dogs of the Turkmen type kopek - powerful, voluminous, quite large with well-developed guarding qualities. Therefore, in the origins of the pedigrees of our dogs you can see the legendary dogs of Turkmenistan: first of all, the Champion of Turkmenistan Akgusha (owner Nuryagdyev), Vice-Champion Babur (owner Kyarizov), Erlen (owner Kyarizov).

All our breeders live in enclosures with cabins or kennels, although they often prefer to sleep in the open air even in severe frosts. During the day, our Asians are on a walk and additionally every day they are taken out to the field for additional exercise, in small groups of 2-3 dogs. Puppies born to us are already transferred from a warm maternity room to an enclosure at 30 days, regardless of the season. If a puppy stays with us for up to 3 months, then he is accustomed to a collar and leash and he also walks outside the kennel every day for normal social adaptation.

Next to the kennel there is a canal named after Moscow, so some of our dogs enjoy swimming in the summer. In feeding, we use both natural food and ready-made super-premium rations. We provide the owners of our puppies with assistance in raising, raising, exhibition handling, veterinary care and purchasing inexpensive meat products, as well as feed at prices provided by companies specifically for our kennel (brands Pro-Plan, Ekanuba, Eminent, Stout).

The first Alabaev nursery in Turkmenistan was opened in Ahal velayat

Today, in the Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat, the opening of a complex of buildings of the economic society “Türkmen alabaý itleri” (“Turkmen Alabais”) took place, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

According to the information, deputies of the Mejlis, the leadership of the Ahal velayat, honorary elders, employees of cultural institutions, students and schoolchildren, and local residents took part in the commissioning ceremony of the first facility of this profile in our country.

According to the source, Hyakim of Ahal Velayat Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having greeted all those present, talked with the elders of the region, asked for their opinion on the current transformations and presented the ceremony participants with a new book by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - “Turkmen Alabai”. The head of the region congratulated everyone on the upcoming Independence Day, on the eve of which the current celebration is taking place.

It is noteworthy that the opening of the nursery, where professional breeding of the legendary Turkmen Alabay breed will be carried out, coincided with the recent publication of a book by the Turkmen leader telling about the history and role of this unique breed of dogs in the life of our people. This work, which is essentially a work of popular science, gives readers the opportunity to more deeply understand the national characteristics of attitudes towards dogs, their upbringing and maintenance.

“The opening of a new facility demonstrates how much attention is paid to the Turkmen Alabays in our country. This is another concrete example of the importance attached to their breeding and proper training, the preservation and development of their best, outstanding purebred qualities, and the further popularization of our national heritage in the world,” said Hyakim of Ahal Velayat Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The honorary elder of the region, who spoke during the event, expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of all compatriots for his contribution to the revival of national traditions.

As emphasized, the book “Turkmen Alabay” added to the cycle of works by the head of state about what is the pride of our people, an integral part of its historical, cultural and spiritual heritage.

It tells not only about the emergence and development of one of the most ancient breeds in the world, but also reveals the uniqueness of this achievement of the Turkmens, who managed to nurture in their dogs such traits as courage and dignity, fearlessness and devotion, creating literally a living monument to the people's love for the Alabai. .

Of course, the publication of a new book by the head of state not only in Turkmen, but also in Russian and English, will allow the world community to gain a more complete understanding of the Alabai, which occupy an important place in the fate of the Turkmen people.

In recent years, interest in alabai has increased significantly throughout the world. The increasing popularity of Alabai is due to their spectacular appearance - they are large and physically powerful dogs, and to their character and behavior - they are reliable, friendly and obedient. These dogs have deservedly taken a leading position among guard breeds in many countries.

The task of preserving and developing the most valuable qualities of Alabais faces both professionals and novice dog breeders. Following age-old traditions in the formation of this breed will help preserve its outstanding properties that distinguish the Turkmen Alabai from dogs of other breeds. Therefore, it is so important to collect and generalize the experience of breeding Alabais and share the accumulated knowledge.

The participants of the ceremony toured the new facility, getting acquainted with the conditions created in the complex of buildings intended for conducting selection work and maintaining and breeding Alabais.

The construction of the complex was carried out through the joint efforts of the Bary business entity, which acted as the general contractor, as well as the main and subcontractors, who completed all the work in accordance with the requirements.

In the book “Turkmen Alabay”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov writes: “At one of the meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, held at the beginning of the year “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Prosperity,” I made a proposal to create a specialized veterinary center under the patronage of the state near Ashgabat. At the same time, the Government of Turkmenistan will fully bear all costs for the construction of this veterinary center for keeping animals. The veterinary center will be equipped with the most advanced equipment and will meet all modern international standards.”

The construction of this veterinary center for four-legged friends will be completed soon, and today a specialized nursery for Turkmen Alabais, occupying an area of ​​1 hectare, was officially opened. Its infrastructure provides everything necessary, because large dogs need large personal space and high-quality zoning. The kennel is designed to accommodate 40 adult dogs and 30 puppies.

An administrative building, a staff building, a checkpoint, and a rest area for workers were erected on the territory of the nursery. The laboratory of the new center is equipped with the necessary modern equipment. There are also utility rooms for feeding and bathing dogs, a refrigeration room, utility room and storage rooms, 5 buildings are reserved for the veterinary service unit.

In addition, an indoor arena was built for walking and training dogs, and for exhibition events there was a special area with spectator stands. There are two garages for vehicles, technical and other auxiliary facilities.

The territory of the complex has been landscaped and green areas have been created. A new road has been built to the nursery. Having familiarized themselves with the conditions at the center, the participants of the ceremony were convinced that all the requirements for the breeding of Alabais, the identification and consolidation of characteristic breed characteristics in their offspring, as well as for the comfortable and fruitful work of breeders, breeders and livestock specialists, veterinarians and other specialists were taken into account here.

About the nursery

Our kennel has official status, registered in Belgium with the International Cynological Organization (FCI), part of the RKF, registration number No. 9252.

SHERIF AGA kennel specializes in pedigree breeding of Central Asian Shepherd Dogs (Turkmen Alabayev). The dogs of the kennel carry valuable Turkmen blood, are large representatives of the breed, with good bones and very beautiful pedigree heads. Among the ancestors of our dogs there are outstanding legendary representatives of the breed. We try to use dogs with valuable Turkmen blood in breeding work.

It is also important that the dogs of the kennel have not only good exterior characteristics, but also typical (characteristic) behavior for Asians and a balanced psyche.

Pedigree dogs have been tested for breeding, with the highest rating of T1, and have OKD - 2 and KS - 1 certificates.

The Central Asian Shepherd Dogs of the kennel invariably produce powerful offspring. All dogs exhibited in the ring have titles.

The kennel's dogs have the titles: Junior Champion of Russia, Champion of Russia, Grand Champion of Russia, Champion of Belarus, Champion of Moldova, Champion of the RKF, Champion of the National Breed Club, Champion of the RFSS, Champion of the RFLS, Champion of the RFOS, Champion of OANKOO, INTERCHAMPION, MULTICHAMPION, etc. At exhibitions At the international, all-Russian and regional levels, our pets have repeatedly been holders of the honorary high title of Best Representative of Breed (BOB).

For “outstanding success in exhibition activities and breeding in 2007,” the nursery was awarded the Diploma of the International Canine Organization.

The nursery is located 200 km from Moscow in an ecologically clean area. All dogs are kept in open-air cages, but are fully provided with the necessary exercise (walks in the fields, swimming). The nursery has its own veterinarian who monitors the health of the dogs and their proper development.

The kennel is open to visitors only to persons who apply on the recommendations of the owners of our dogs.

The nursery maintains close contact with the owners of puppies purchased from us. Everyone can always count on our advice on raising, keeping puppies, organizing their exhibition career and providing high-quality food.

More than half of the owners have two or more of our pets.

The kennel often takes puppies in pairs, not only a girl and a boy, but also same-sex dogs. More often they take two males. For example: SHERIFF AGA URMAT AND ULUF, SHERIFF AGA NAZIRSHAH AND NAZIRKHAN, SHERIFF AGA ILCHAN AND IZMIR, SHERIFF AGA GUARDIAN AND SHERIFF AGA BORKHAN, etc.

Dogs in pairs are easier to raise and are better guard dogs.

Among the owners there are those who have three or even four of our dogs.

This speaks not only of high exterior characteristics, but also of the dogs’ very balanced psyche.

When selling puppies, the kennel gives preference to people who know and love the Central Asian Shepherd breed and who apply on the recommendations of dog owners from our kennel.

In Turkmenistan, purebred Alabais, along with Akhal-Teke horses, are considered a national treasure and are even prohibited from being exported from the country. Before adopting a dog from the kennel
