During the collapse of the Soviet Union, due to the loss of the monopoly on breeding by such monopolists as DOSAAF and the creation of private nurseries, and the persecution of VEO, breeding work with the East European Shepherd began in our nursery. The founder of the kennel is a multiple winner of many exhibitions at different levels, a multiple Best Representative of Breed 1995-2002, later a multiple winner of regional and all-Russian exhibitions both in Moscow and in the regions. Winner of the Pride of the Fatherland competitions, a very thoroughbred bitch, a bright representative of the VEO Monti breed. Nirt-Land born 1994 Monty's pedigree contains the blood of the best representatives of the breed. It was in honor of this wonderful dog that the existing “Star” kennel, when re-registered in the RKF-FCI in 2001, was renamed into the “Monty Star” breeding kennel. This unique bitch, who gained the “elite” class for her offspring during the period of official non-recognition of VEO, ended her exhibition career with a 2-time victory in the veteran class at the largest international exhibition “Eurasia 2006” (more than 20,000 dogs entered). Surprising the experts with his high breeding, excellent health, amazing display in the ring, nobility and sense of superiority over his younger rivals and over his own age too. At the same exhibition, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren showed excellent results. At the time of the exhibition, Monty was 12 years old. Passing on to her children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren her inherent breed type, strong nervous system and excellent ability to train any species, she left behind numerous offspring who continue her line. Until 02/25/2007. She was proud of her descendants and greeted visitors to the nursery herself.

Since 1996, work began on creating a breeding base, and a work plan for the near future was drawn up.

In 1998, from Monty and 2xChampion of Russia, 2xChampion of the breed and multiple winner of exhibitions of the highest level Zarting Dey (owner Zueva V.), it was decided to leave Stefania-Star-Ross for further work in our kennel, as the successor of the Monty family and we are not made a wrong choice. In the future, we received from Stefania-Star-Ross the best representatives of the breed, repeated winners of exhibitions, dogs receiving the highest exhibition awards and titles.

In May 1999 Monty gave birth to a unique litter in terms of the number of puppies (16 live puppies were born!) Some of the puppies were transferred to be raised by another bitch in another nursery. The special protection department purchased two puppies for breeding and protection. facility in the Stavropol Territory and, according to reviews, they justified the hopes placed on them. Another male dog was also purchased by the Voronezh Regional Department of Internal Affairs for the protection and maintenance of law and order. Most of the puppies have dispersed throughout our country into private hands.

The period from 2000 to 2004 was very successful. In 2000 From the mating of Stefania-Star-Ross and the Champion of Russia, Champion of the Breed and multiple Best Representative of the Breed Yanysh-Dey (owner Sokolova G.) a litter was obtained in which almost all puppies - females were exhibited at exhibitions and took the highest places. From this litter came: Grand Champion of Russia, Champion of Russia, Champion of the RKF, Champion of the National Club, OKD, ZKS I st. Honda-Monti-Star and her littermates, Hitachi-Monti-Star – RFSS Champion, multiple winner and prize-winner of exhibitions Hilda-Monti-Star – (owner Morozov, Zueva V.), excellent show winner Hildar-Monti-Star, show winners Helena Monty Star and Hana Monty Star. A male from the same litter, Khalif Monty-Star, was taken to a professional kennel in the United Arab Emirates. Honda-Monti-Star, Hitachi-Monti-Star, Hildara-Monti-Star are currently actively produced in our nursery.

We were pleased with the puppies born in 2002 from Stefania-Star-Ross and Luidor-Twin-Ross (owner Rozovskaya). In the city of Nezhnekamsk, he successfully serves in the zone of a special object, the winner of the Monty-Star-Irena exhibition. She was wounded while on duty, but she completed the task, underwent surgery and continues to perform the service entrusted to her. She has already produced very promising offspring. The kids have inherited their mother’s inherent fearlessness, excellent working qualities, and we hope they will also be able to continue to worthily represent the East European Shepherd. Monty-Star-Irbis, Champion of Russia, Champion of RKF, Champion of Belarus, was purchased for the breeding nursery “Minas Galadriel”. Monty-Star-Irwin is successfully exhibited in Makhachkala, which they plan to use on their local population of bitches.

In 2003 from the same Stefania and Ursa-Koraji-Laers were obtained the repeated winner of exhibitions Junior Champion of Russia, Champion of Russia, Champion of the RKF, Junior Champion of Belarus, OKD ZKS I degree, Monty-Star-Xenon Fozerest also acquired by the nursery "Minas Galadriel", his sister Junior Champion of Russia, Champion of Russia, Champion of the RKF, Champion of Belarus, OKD, ZKS I degree Monti-Star-Kolkhida (owner Bogatyr) purchased for breeding work in St. Petersburg, nursery “Northern Zastava”. Two puppies went to the border zones of the Arctic Circle. Another of their littermates was taken to a breeding nursery in Syria.

Puppies that go into private hands are very difficult to plan for further work, because everything depends on the desires and whims of the dog owner. In order to somehow relieve this dependence, I want to leave the best puppies in the kennel. All this entails the creation of an entire canine complex, including the construction of enclosures and dog walks, the availability of dog care staff, and veterinary services. Therefore, in 2004, the two nurseries “Monty Star” and “Minas Galadriel” merged into one base site.

Before the merger, the Minas Galadriel kennel, see footnote 1) was mainly engaged in the Spanish Mastiff breed, and only formed a breeding base for the East European Shepherd breed, including the Monty-Star-Irbis and Monty-Star-Xenon purchased from the Monty Star kennel -Fotherest, Hildara-Monty-Star. And since the main stock of “Minas Galadriel” was well combined with the “Monty Star” dogs, the merger had virtually no effect on the breeding plans, but only added opportunities for further work for both parties. After the merger of nurseries, it was decided to abandon the management of two breeds at the same time (see footnote 2) and all efforts were focused on VEO. At the moment, valuable and strong breeding stock is concentrated on the common site.

In 2005, 53 puppies were received from 6 of our own breeders. All the puppies were very purebred, many had already started their show careers. Two bitches Monty-Star-Maserati from the mating of Monty-Star-Irbis and Honda-Monty-Star, and Minas-Galadriel-Alcarinque from the mating of Monty-Star-Irbis and Janso-Nigas-Elika were left at the nursery for breeding work. Maserati is already successfully exhibiting at exhibitions, Alka is just getting ready to start her exhibition career. Also, the male Minas-Galadriel-Aldaron and the female Monty-Star-Nadezhda were purchased for breeding work at a kennel in Argentina.

2006 was also very successful and, although two females were missing, more than 60 puppies were obtained from the kennel. Our puppies have dispersed not only to regions but also to countries near and far abroad. An agreement was reached to send puppies to organize the VEO nursery in Kyrgyzstan.

From 2004 to 2007, the nursery operated under the Minas Galadriel brand. On January 1, 2007, the name of the nursery “101 VEO” was adopted, while the nursery retained its own and “Minas Galadriel”

Over the years of the nursery's existence, more than 400 puppies were born. At least 30 have the highest ranks and titles. The pets of our nursery live in Argentina, Syria, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. In all major cities of Russia, in the south and beyond the Arctic Circle. They serve in correctional institutions, the State Drug Control Service, in units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the Moscow Metro, and in private security companies. And how many families trust their property, their lives and the lives of their children to our pets.

On February 23, 2007, our kennel, represented by its director Alexander Maratovich Perfilyev, was awarded the medal “For the revival of service dog breeding in Russia”

The nursery holds an annual viewing exhibition - the Celebration of the Young VEO. At the Festival in July 2006, according to the catalog, there were over 70 participants under the age of 1.5 years. The holiday is held, oddly enough for a domestic breed, with the support of an American company, manufacturer of professional feed “Eukanuba.” Domestic patrons are in no hurry to help national pride, but we will gladly consider any proposals. Both in terms of sponsorship of the Holiday and in relation to the nursery.

The presence of a base site makes it possible, although to a certain extent limited by space and finances, to retain promising puppies for further work. And not only to preserve the famous Monty line, but also to improve the results achieved in the field of preserving and developing the main shepherd dog of the USSR, in the hope that over time VEO will also become the main shepherd dog of Russia.

Our nursery is located to the west of Moscow in the forest region of the Odintsovo district of the Moscow Region. Literally opening the gate in the fence from the kennel, the dogs find themselves in the forest, where they have the opportunity to run around and play without restrictions. And after walking 700 meters, they plop into the water of our forest river and can swim to their heart's content. The kennel looks like a stronghold for the dogs living in it, stone walls are built around the kennel, a tower with loopholes, a spiral staircase inside and an observation deck at the top has been built.

The nursery consists of outdoor enclosures with winter roads, spacious walks, and also has a heated main compartment, where there are enclosures for keeping puppies, bitches on the eve of giving birth and sick pets, a washing room for dogs and a food kitchen

On a fine day, dogs are mostly out for walks. And at night, most sleep in enclosures, but some guard the house, and others wander around the area, keeping an eye on the perimeter.

At the moment, the nursery's population is 14 dogs, being the largest single-breed nursery for the VEO breed in Russia, and the breeding plan includes an expansion of the population.

As soon as the weather and age permit, puppies, regardless of the time of year, begin to walk outside in a fenced enclosure specially designated for the smallest, which has a very positive effect on their health. They enjoy playing outdoors and look forward to the arrival of their future owners.

Before adopting a dog from the kennel
