Prac-tic Drops against Fleas and Ticks for Dogs

Description

Praktik anti-flea and tick drops are produced in the form of a solution with an oily consistency. Packaged in convenient polymer pipettes. Before use, carefully cut off the tip.

On a note!

To fully treat a dog for fleas, only one pipette is required, but the dosage of the active component is different. Depending on body weight, 4 types of Praktik drops are produced. The cardboard package contains 3 dropper pipettes.

Compound

The active component of Praktik drops is a new generation insecticide designed specifically to protect dogs from parasites. The substance is called pyriprole. It has a wide spectrum of action, low toxicity, and helps prevent helminthic infestation.

Piriprol disrupts the functioning of the nervous system. Upon contact with treated fur, the flea is paralyzed within a few seconds, even before it can deliver a bite. The next 2 minutes will be fatal for the parasite.

Instructions for use of Prak-tik drops

Drops should be used externally, applied to a dry and intact area of skin. To prevent the dog from licking the medicine, it should be applied to the withers or closer to the base of the skull, first spreading the fur.

In the following dosages:

  • The dosage of the drug is 0.1 ml per 1 kg of dog weight. After application, the drug acts as protection against insects for the dog for four weeks.
  • To treat large breeds, the contents of the dropper should be dropped into three different places along the dog's spine.

If necessary, re-treatment is carried out no earlier than a month later.

Contraindications and side effects

If you follow the instructions, there are no side effects. An allergic reaction may occur in sensitive dogs. In exceptional cases, minor side effects such as itching and redness may occur.

Contraindicated in dogs with infectious diseases. It is not recommended to use in the treatment of puppies under 8 weeks of age, as well as dogs that weigh less than 2 kg.

In case of an overdose, symptoms such as loss of coordination, body tremors, increased salivation, and rapid breathing appear.

Action

Praktik drops for dogs against fleas and ticks
The active components of Praktik drops for dogs act locally and do not enter the general bloodstream. After targeted application, piriprol is localized in the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Over the course of 24 hours, it evenly covers the skin and hair of the dog. The flea enters the body by contact through the chitinous cover, partly through food.

Pharmacological properties

Praktik is a colorless, slightly oily liquid that does not have a pronounced odor. The medicine is packaged in conveniently shaped pipettes with a tear-off cap, 3 pieces per pack. Each box must include instructions for use with a list of contraindications.

Prac-tic can be used against ixodid ticks, fleas, lice, lice, and scabies mites.

The main active ingredient used in the drug is pyriprole . This compound has recently been specifically bred to combat parasites. It copes well with almost all skin parasites that terrorize dogs, without causing any harm to the animal being treated. Piriprol is effective not only against adult eggs, but also against eggs and larvae.

Once in the parasite's body, the substance disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses between cells, destroying arthropods.

Piriprol belongs to hazard class 3, which means it is completely harmless to warm-blooded animals, but serves as a strong poison for bees and fish. If you are treating your dog with Prak-tik, do not go near apiaries and do not let it swim in open bodies of water, so as not to harm their inhabitants.

Terms of use

Animals may be processed in a well-ventilated area.

  1. The procedure is carried out wearing rubber gloves.
  2. Apply drops of Praktik in places where the dog cannot lick the drug.
  3. After treatment, the pet cannot be petted for another 2 days.

  • animals weighing less than 2 kg;
  • sick, weakened, convalescing pets;
  • in the presence of individual intolerance.

Pregnant and lactating dogs are allowed to use the product under the supervision of veterinarians and owners.

Important!

A severe allergic reaction is manifested by skin irritation, lacrimation, increased salivation, vomiting, loss of appetite, trembling throughout the body, and spasms. In such cases, you need to wash off the product with soap and seek help from specialists.

Practic drops for treating dogs

Prac-tik, for dogs 11-22 kg, drop solution on the withers against fleas and ticks, 1 pipette

INSTRUCTIONS for the use of the insecto-acaricidal drug Prac-tic (Prac-tic)

COMPOSITION AND RELEASE FORM An insecto-acaricidal agent containing 125 mg of pyriprole as an active ingredient per 1 ml, as well as auxiliary components butylated hydroxytoluene and diethyl glycol monoethyl ether. It is a colorless or yellow solution for external use. Packaged in 0.45 ml (for dogs weighing 2 - 4.5 kg) in polypropylene pipettes. Pack 3 pipettes in blisters made of aluminum foil, which are placed in cardboard boxes.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES Piriprol, which is part of the drug, has a pronounced contact insecto-acaricidal effect against the preimaginal and imaginal phases of development of insects parasitizing on dogs. Active against fleas (Ctenocephalides canis), lice (Linognathus setosus) and lice (Trichodectes canis), as well as ixodes ticks - Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis, Amblyomma americanum. The mechanism of action of piriprole is to block GABA-dependent (GABA - gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors of parasites, disrupting the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. When applied to the skin, the drug is not absorbed, but gradually, over 24 hours, is distributed over the surface of the body and, reserved in the sebaceous glands, has a long-term insecticidal and acaricidal effect in places where ectoparasites are localized. In terms of the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, the drug is classified as a moderately dangerous substance; in recommended doses it does not have skin irritation, resorptive toxic, embryotoxic or teratogenic effects. The drug is toxic to bees, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.

INDICATIONS For the destruction of fleas, lice, lice and ixodid ticks that parasitize dogs, as well as to protect animals from their attacks.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION The drug is administered to animals once by drop application to dry, intact skin. The pipette is taken out of the package and placed vertically with the spout facing up. Tap the narrow part of the pipette so that the contents remain in the main part. Break off the tip of the easily broken off tip along the dotted line. In dogs, the fur is spread between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck and then, pressing the pipette, the solution is applied to the skin in places inaccessible to licking. The minimum therapeutic dose of the drug is 0.1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight, which corresponds to 12.5 mg of pyriprole per 1 kg of animal weight. The death of insects parasitizing the animal occurs within 24 hours after treatment. The protective effect of the drug after a single treatment of the animal lasts for 4 weeks. To destroy ectoparasites, dogs are treated once. Repeated treatments of animals are carried out according to entomological indications, but not more than once a month. When treating allergic dermatitis caused by insects, it is advisable to use the drug in combination with drugs for pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.

SIDE EFFECTS There are, as a rule, no side effects or complications when using the drug Prak-tik in accordance with these instructions. In rare cases, after using the drug, some animals may experience individual skin reactions (redness, itching), which spontaneously disappear within 1 to 4 days and do not require the use of medications. In case of overdose, neurological symptoms are observed: deterioration of coordination, tremor, shortness of breath, hypersalivation (when licking the drug), which also spontaneously disappear within a few hours.

CONTRAINDICATIONS Increased individual sensitivity to the drug. It is not allowed to be used by patients with infectious diseases and convalescent animals, as well as dogs weighing less than 2 kg and puppies under 8 weeks of age. Treatment of whelping and lactating bitches must be carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian. Prak-tik should not be applied to wet or damaged skin, or used simultaneously with other insecticidal and acaricidal preparations. It is not recommended to wash the animal with detergent for 48 hours before treatment.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS During treatment, smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited. At the end of the procedure, you should wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. If the drug accidentally gets on the skin or mucous membranes, it should be washed off immediately with a stream of water. It is not recommended to wash, pet or allow the animal near small children for 24 hours after treatment with the drug.
